Kashikiri Onsen and Spa Sukhumvit 49

4.6(494 reviews)

Tucked into a quiet soi off Sukhumvit 49 in the Watthana district, this spa brings Japanese onsen culture to Bangkok, offering both private and public hot spring bathing alongside massage and spa treatments. Visitors consistently describe the atmosphere as calm and authentically Japanese, making it a genuine departure from the city's energy and a notable alternative to conventional Thai spa experiences. The facilities are well-maintained, and staff are attentive to individual preferences during treatments. The venue caters to couples and solo travellers alike, with private onsen options available for those seeking a more intimate experience. The hot springs are clean and the interior carries a quietly peaceful aesthetic that guests find transporting — several reviewers describe it as feeling like stepping into Japan rather than Bangkok. Massage services accompany the bathing experience, and staff can be directed on pressure and focus areas during sessions. Good to know: Reservations are recommended and can be made in advance, which is particularly advisable for private onsen bookings. Upon booking, guests may be asked to complete a form indicating treatment preferences. The location on Sukhumvit 49 is accessible via BTS Skytrain at Thong Lo station, a short journey from the main Sukhumvit corridor. Arriving without a tight schedule allows guests to make the most of the unhurried pace the onsen format is designed around.

Visitor Reviews

**Absolutely Amazing Experience!** Kashikiri Onsen and Spa Sukhumvit 49 is an incredible place that truly feels like stepping into Japan. The vibe and atmosphere are so peaceful, quiet, and relaxing—perfect for unwinding and escaping the busy city. I booked the **Onsen (45 mins) + Scrub (45 mins) + Aroma Oil Massage (60 mins)** in a VIP room for 6,890 Baht (paid in cash), and everything was just perfect. The facilities were spotless and beautifully designed, making the entire experience feel luxurious. The highlight for me was the aroma oil massage—the oil was so thick and rich, providing the perfect texture for a deeply relaxing massage. The therapists were incredibly skilled and attentive, ensuring every moment was enjoyable. If you’re looking for a serene, authentic Japanese-style spa experience in Bangkok, I highly recommend Kashikiri Onsen and Spa. It’s worth every penny, and I can’t wait to visit again!

I’ve been here 3x and I have to say that it is definitely the closest and most authentic you’d get to a real onsen in Japan, and by far the best onsen in BKK It’s also the most centrally located and accessible by public transport or if you drive. Inside the Onsen room, there was a large tub, and we could choose the fragrance for our bath. The room included a bucket of cold water with ice and a small area for towels and clothes i really enjoyed the experience and would definitely visit again when i have free time.

I love public onsens in Bangkok and I was looking for a private one to try out with my husband. Kashikiri is the first onsen we went together to here and we both loved it a lot! The place is clean and welcoming, very chill and has cute japanese decorations. You get a welcoming tea drink and a locker to store your clothes. After the onsen they take you to a massage room, we had a 60 min thai massage and it was very relaxing 😌

Tips for Visiting Wellness & Spas

Learn Wat Pho First

Wat Pho in Bangkok is the birthplace of traditional Thai massage education. Their on-site massage pavilion offers excellent treatments from students and graduates at reasonable prices — and you know the technique is authentic.

Communicate Pressure Preferences

Thai massage can be intense. Say 'bao bao' for lighter pressure or 'nак nак' for harder. A good therapist will check in, but don't hesitate to speak up — suffering in silence defeats the purpose.

Book Longer Sessions

A 60-minute massage is fine, but 90 or 120 minutes allows the therapist to work thoroughly. The price difference is often only 200–400 THB for an extra hour — worth it for a deeper, more relaxing experience.
