Rasayana Retreat
Tucked away on a quiet soi off Sukhumvit 39, Rasayana Retreat offers a genuinely restorative escape from Bangkok's urban intensity. The property centres on holistic health rather than conventional spa services, with a focus on treatments such as lymphatic drainage massage and colon hydrotherapy — specialities that set it apart from typical Bangkok wellness venues. A mature Banyan tree shades the outdoor space, and visitors consistently note that the calming atmosphere takes effect from the moment of arrival. Alongside its therapeutic treatments, Rasayana operates a vegetarian restaurant serving health-focused food prepared with filtered water. The kitchen appears to be a meaningful part of the experience rather than an afterthought, with guests frequently mentioning the menu as a highlight. Staff are noted for being attentive, knowledgeable, and accommodating — including for guests arriving with little notice after long-haul flights. Good to know: Rasayana sits closer to Phrom Phong BTS station than the soi number might suggest, making it accessible from most parts of Bangkok without a taxi. Given the specialised nature of treatments like colon hydrotherapy, first-time visitors may want to contact the retreat in advance to discuss what to expect and confirm availability. Booking ahead is advisable, particularly during Bangkok's peak travel season from November to February.

Visitor Reviews
This is the first time I've ever tried colon hydrotherapy, I was a little nervous about the experience, but they made it very comfortable and the woman facilitating the therapy was available at all times if you needed anything and was very calm and comforting. The facility is very clean and has a lovely ambiance with lemongrass aroma and plants to add to the tranquility. All of the staff are kind and speak English. I chose the half day package, I really enjoyed it. Sauna, massage, colon cleanse and then a raw meal. Feeling great! I'm glad I took the time to give my body the detox and tlc it deserves.
We came here straight from a long international flight and it was exactly what our bodies needed. They were so accommodating and fit us in, which we really appreciated after traveling all day. The lymphatic drainage massage was incredibly relaxing, and the woman I had was so sweet and amazing at what she does. Afterwards, we got to sit in their peaceful oasis-like relaxation area and enjoy tea and fresh juice — such a perfect touch. A must-visit if you’re looking for a detox or want to treat your body after a long flight!
I had a 90-minute lymphatic drainage massage at Rasayana and it was incredible. I’d never had one before and wasn’t sure what to expect, but it turned out to be one of the most relaxing treatments I’ve ever experienced- I’m pretty sure it put me into an entirely different brain-wave state. I also stayed for lunch afterwards, and the onsite menu is fantastic with so many fresh, superfood-based options. A beautiful, calming experience from start to finish. Highly recommend!
Tips for Visiting Wellness & Spas
Learn Wat Pho First
Wat Pho in Bangkok is the birthplace of traditional Thai massage education. Their on-site massage pavilion offers excellent treatments from students and graduates at reasonable prices — and you know the technique is authentic.
Communicate Pressure Preferences
Thai massage can be intense. Say 'bao bao' for lighter pressure or 'nак nак' for harder. A good therapist will check in, but don't hesitate to speak up — suffering in silence defeats the purpose.
Book Longer Sessions
A 60-minute massage is fine, but 90 or 120 minutes allows the therapist to work thoroughly. The price difference is often only 200–400 THB for an extra hour — worth it for a deeper, more relaxing experience.
