Siamchai Whitesand Beach
This is what you go for when you want sand under your feet but can't face the drive south. It sits over in Nakhon Pathom, close enough to Bangkok that you can leave after breakfast and be back for dinner, which is the whole point of the place. Nobody's pretending it's Krabi.
The crowd is mostly Thai families doing ordinary seaside things: swimming in the shallow water, eating, sitting around. Facilities are casual rather than resort-grade, and local food is easy enough to find nearby. If you arrive expecting polish you'll be disappointed. If you arrive expecting a cheap, easy day out with your feet in the water, it does the job. Weekends fill up, so a weekday visit is a different, calmer experience. Bring sun cover, because shade is not something I'd count on.
