Fair House

4.5(900 reviews)

Fair House Villas & Spa is a beachfront resort hotel situated in the quiet Mae Nam area of Koh Samui, offering guests a calm retreat away from the busier parts of the island. The property is well maintained and draws consistent praise for its tranquil atmosphere, making it a strong choice for travellers seeking a relaxed, unhurried stay on the island. Guests can expect spacious, well-appointed rooms and villas, including beachfront villa options and pool rooms with bay views from upper floors. The on-site restaurant receives particular attention from visitors, and the spa rounds out an offering suited to those prioritising rest and comfort. What distinguishes the property most, according to guests, is the quality of its staff — described repeatedly as warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming across all areas of the resort, from reception and housekeeping through to the spa team. Good to know: Fair House Villas & Spa is well suited to longer stays, with several guests noting two-week visits. As the property sits in a quieter northern part of Koh Samui rather than the main tourist strips, those wanting easy access to nightlife or busy beach areas should factor in the location. Booking directly or well in advance is advisable, particularly for beachfront villa accommodation, which is in high demand.

Visitor Reviews

The staff are amazing, always so happy to greet you! My husband and I stayed for 7 nights. We enjoyed an upgraded room to the lovely pool room, which was spacious, well appointed and very clean. The restaurant and pool area are definitely a highlight! They both overlook the ocean and of an evening have the most amazing sunsets! The food at the restaurant was always exceptional and delicious, with live music some nights. Breakfast and dinner was included in our package, with the dinner menu, it would be good if there were some western options available, but the Thai food was excellent and there was a very big variety for breakfast, including eggs to order. The restaurant staff are so friendly, especially Stamp - she has such a lovely smile, and would offer to take photos for you, and Way, he would always have great travel suggestions and food recommendations from the menu. All the staff were wonderful including Boss, our Guest experience host ensured our stay was perfect. He would organise activities and taxis for us, ensuring we got the best sets or options available, he was always ready with any assistance we needed. The location is about 20 minutes drive to the main party areas and market, which is lovely as you can relax. Don't hesitate in booking this relaxing, quiet, and laidback resort, it is one of the best I've stayed at!

Lovely Hotel with Exceptional Service I felt very comfortable at this beautiful hotel and truly enjoyed my stay. The property is very nice, well kept, and has a calm, pleasant atmosphere. What really stood out to me was the friendliness and attentiveness of the staff — especially the gentleman at the pool. He was incredibly kind, always helped to prepare the sun loungers, and seemed to read every wish from your lips. His service was outstanding: very attentive, thoughtful, and genuinely caring. Small details like this make a big difference and really elevate the experience. Overall, the service was warm and welcoming, and I can definitely recommend this hotel. The only small challenge for me personally was the breakfast. However, this was not specific to this hotel — I generally found breakfast in Thailand a bit difficult because I eat very healthy, especially in the mornings. That said, I was still able to find fresh fruits that tasted delicious, so it was absolutely fine. All in all, this is a very nice hotel with great service, and I would recommend it without hesitation.

it is one of the best places in the world and my absolute favorite hotel. i have never experienced such warm and genuinely kind staff anywhere else. from the reception to housekeeping, the spa and the restaurant team, especially praewa, boss, way, game and miw, everyone made this stay unforgettable. i had a two hour massage at the spa which was on the highest level and deeply relaxing. this was my second stay and once again everything was perfect. the rooms are truly unique, from the garden villa to the pool villa, each one is special in its own way. i will miss this place a lot. and especially tia, the hotel dog. she is wonderful and made my stay even more special. for me this is the best hotel on koh samui. i hope i can come back later this year and i will definitely recommend it to everyone i know. thank you fair house for this very special stay. it was the highlight of my trip.

Tips for Visiting Temples & Culture

Dress Modestly

Cover shoulders and knees at all temples. Carry a light scarf or sarong — some temples lend wraps, but not all. Shoes come off before entering any building with a Buddha image.

Mind Your Feet

Never point your feet at a Buddha image or a monk — it's considered deeply disrespectful. When sitting inside a temple, tuck your feet behind you or to the side.

Ask Before Photographing

Exterior photos are almost always fine, but some interior halls prohibit photography. Look for signs, and never pose irreverently with Buddha images — it's a legal offense in Thailand.
