Modern Thai Art Gallery
Tucked into the lively Fisherman's Village on Koh Samui's north shore, this art gallery showcases contemporary Thai artwork in a setting that rewards an unplanned stop as much as a deliberate visit. Many visitors stumble across it while exploring the village and find themselves drawn in by the quality and style of the pieces on display. The gallery represents individual artists, giving buyers a direct connection to the work and, in some cases, the ability to commission larger or freshly painted versions of pieces they admire. What sets this gallery apart is its active international shipping service, which makes purchasing practical even for travellers. Past buyers have had large canvases freighted to Australia and elsewhere within days, with the gallery coordinating logistics via WhatsApp and working with couriers including FedEx. Custom duties and import fees may apply depending on the destination country, so it is worth clarifying these costs before finalising a purchase. For those who fall in love with a piece but run short on time during their visit, the gallery is reachable after returning home and has fulfilled orders based on photos and social media finds. Opening hours are not publicly listed, so visiting during the main daytime hours of Fisherman's Village — typically late afternoon when the area is at its most active — gives the best chance of finding it open.

Visitor Reviews
Me and my friends were visiting the Fisherman’s village, suddenly we found this really nice Art Gallery! My friends were so impressed by the art and style that they decided to purchase a nice piece of art. I also decided to buy one. The lady at the desk was really helpful and we got a nice price for our paintings. We also could see the artist working on his new paintings. The lady even offered us to ship the paintings to our home country!
Perfect customer service. Great pictures arrived well with FedEx shipping. We had to pay more for custom/taxes then discussed, but they were very friendly and we find good solution. Whatsapp communication as fast as possible. Highly recommended. If you want to avoid customs I recommend taking pictures safely in luggage (if possible)
The villa we were staying in had a piece from Modern Thai which we photographed. After tracking them down we were able to order a larger, freshly painted, version from the same artist. The gallery rolled, wrapped and sent the artwork which we've just mounted to a frame. Great service and we got to see it prior to shipping.
Tips for Visiting Temples & Culture
Dress Modestly
Cover shoulders and knees at all temples. Carry a light scarf or sarong — some temples lend wraps, but not all. Shoes come off before entering any building with a Buddha image.
Mind Your Feet
Never point your feet at a Buddha image or a monk — it's considered deeply disrespectful. When sitting inside a temple, tuck your feet behind you or to the side.
Ask Before Photographing
Exterior photos are almost always fine, but some interior halls prohibit photography. Look for signs, and never pose irreverently with Buddha images — it's a legal offense in Thailand.
