Santichon Village
Nestled in the hills near Pai, Santichon Village is a small Chinese-style settlement that offers a lighthearted mix of culture, activity, and local flavour. The village traces its roots to Yunnan Chinese heritage and provides visitors with a tangible — if tourist-oriented — glimpse into that cultural identity through its architecture, traditional costumes, and local produce. Visitors can rent traditional Chinese clothing for photos, try their hand at archery or BB gun shooting (typically under 100 baht), and ride the four-person communal swing that regularly draws enthusiastic crowds. Green tea is a local speciality worth sampling, and the roasted peanuts sold at market stalls come highly recommended by repeat visitors. Food and snack stalls are scattered throughout, making it easy to spend a relaxed few hours here without rushing. The atmosphere is friendly and low-key, with welcoming staff and a pace suited to casual exploration rather than structured sightseeing. Santichon Village is open daily from 5:00am to 6:00pm, making it well suited to an early morning visit or a stop on the way back from the nearby viewpoint. It is best understood as a casual, family-friendly attraction rather than a heritage site, so those expecting an immersive cultural experience may find it modest in scale. That said, for travellers already in the Pai area looking for an easy half-hour to a full afternoon of simple entertainment and local snacks, it fits comfortably into the day.

Visitor Reviews
We had a blast on the way down from view point. It is a bit of culture, a bit of history, some photo ops and a whole lot of simple fun. If you are already in the area, this is highly recommended. You get a sample of local cuisine, souvenirs and culture at rock bottom prices. The swing is a can't miss. 20 bahts per person but wow what an experience. 360' swing woowee
Beautiful place to spend the day. Great food, the Chinese swing is hilariously good fun and archery too. Try the green tea and don't forget to buy peanuts, they're worth it
Interesting place. There are archery and BB gun games priced at less than 100B. Lots of stalls renting costumes for photo taking. Food and snacks available too.

Tips for Visiting Temples & Culture
Dress Modestly
Cover shoulders and knees at all temples. Carry a light scarf or sarong — some temples lend wraps, but not all. Shoes come off before entering any building with a Buddha image.
Mind Your Feet
Never point your feet at a Buddha image or a monk — it's considered deeply disrespectful. When sitting inside a temple, tuck your feet behind you or to the side.
Ask Before Photographing
Exterior photos are almost always fine, but some interior halls prohibit photography. Look for signs, and never pose irreverently with Buddha images — it's a legal offense in Thailand.
