Nigiri
Tucked into Pai's Wiang Tai neighbourhood, this Japanese restaurant has built a strong reputation for delivering sushi and Japanese cuisine that surprises even seasoned diners. Given Pai's remote mountain setting in Mae Hong Son province, the quality on offer here is genuinely unexpected — visitors consistently highlight the freshness of the fish, the precision of the rolls, and the quality of the wagyu, with several describing it as among the finest sushi they have encountered anywhere. The menu centres on nigiri and sushi rolls, with the kitchen drawing particular praise for fish that is tender, fresh, and allowed to speak for itself rather than being masked by excessive rice or heavy sauces. A wagyu steak option also features prominently in visitor accounts. The atmosphere is described as warm and welcoming, with attentive staff contributing to a relaxed but considered dining experience that suits Pai's unhurried pace. As with many restaurants in Pai, opening hours and availability can vary, so it is worth confirming current times with your accommodation or stopping by in advance. Given the restaurant's popularity and the town's steady flow of visitors, arriving early or outside peak meal times may reduce waiting. No website is currently listed, so direct visits remain the most reliable way to check on the day.

Visitor Reviews
I was very skeptical before arriving as i have high standards for sushi and didn’t expect to have such a good place in Pai, everything was perfect, the fish were fresh and tasty, the wasabi authentic and the soy sauce was perfect. I enjoyed a highball which i didn’t have since traveling Japan and an ice cold kirin to top it off. I highly recommend visiting and i will definitely come again next time i’m in Pai.
This place is truly unique! The fish is incredibly tender and absolutely fresh, with every dish made from high-quality ingredients. The staff is attentive and kind, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Honestly, these were the best sushi of my life. It’s amazing to find such an exceptionally delicious restaurant in Pai a true hidden gem that I would love to return to again and again.
This place is our new favorite Japanese spot 😍 Sushi is crazy good, fish super fresh — honestly, we’ve never had sushi like this before. Rolls are neat, not stuffed with rice, you really taste the fish. For sure coming back here and bringing friends.❤️❤️❤️
Tips for Visiting Restaurants & Food
Learn the Spice Scale
Say 'mai pet' for no spice, 'pet nit noi' for a little spice, or 'pet mak' if you want it Thai-hot. Most cooks will default to a toned-down version for foreigners unless you specify otherwise.
Follow the Crowds
The busiest street stalls are almost always the best — high turnover means fresh ingredients and a recipe that locals vouch for. An empty restaurant at dinner time is a red flag.
Ice Is Safe
Factory-made tube or cylinder ice (used in virtually all restaurants and stalls) is made from purified water and is safe to consume. You don't need to skip the iced Thai tea.
