Papa's Pedals - Bicycle rental
Papa's Pedals is a bicycle rental shop in the heart of Pai, run by a hands-on owner who takes a personal approach to every rental. Papa checks each bike thoroughly before it goes out and equips riders with helmets, front and rear lights, reflectors, and phone mounts as standard — a level of care that sets this shop apart from more transactional rental operations. For families, Papa has gone as far as customising bikes with dual child seats, making it a genuinely flexible option for travellers of all situations.
The shop stocks a variety of bikes suited to different riding styles, from casual loops around Pai's compact town centre to longer rides out through rice paddies, local villages, and the surrounding countryside. Rentals are available by the day or for longer periods, and the extended hours — 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM daily — make it easy to pick up or return a bike at a time that suits your plans. Visitors can reach Papa by calling the number posted outside the shop.

Reviews from Google
We had the best experience renting bikes from Papa’s Pedals! We hired two bikes for two days which were thoroughly checked by Papa before we took them out. Helmets and a phone mount were also provided. Papa was very friendly and personable, and when we returned the bikes his daughter was there to greet us who was equally as lovely. We visited Pai Canyon, Big Buddha and cycled through the many villages and fields that surround the town. If you’re visiting Pai, get bikes! You will not regret it.
Lovely man with a variety of bikes. Papa takes well care of the bikes and makes sure it’s well maintained before renting it out. You call the number outside his shop and he’ll come out and help you. We paid 100 thb for two bikes for 24 h. We enjoyed biking to Pai Canyon and passing dreamscape and doing sauna on the way back. Nice route to enjoy the landscape and getting in some cardio. Bring extra headlamp if you’re biking at night.
Just had the best experience renting a bike from Papas for three days. Papas daughter and kiddo were lovely and warm. A helmet, bike lights and lock were provided. As I don’t know how to ride a motorcycle it was the best thing I could have done to explore Pai and its surrounding villages and rice fields. 10/10 recommend

Tips for Visiting Activities & Tours
Vet Elephant Sanctuaries
Only visit sanctuaries that prohibit riding, use no chains or bullhooks, and let elephants roam freely. Elephant Nature Park in Chiang Mai set the standard. If a place offers painting shows or circus tricks, walk away.
Book Popular Activities Online
Booking platforms like GetYourGuide give you instant confirmation and, on many activities, free cancellation — and you can read recent reviews before committing. Compare with local agencies for multi-day trips where negotiation might save more.
Do Outdoor Activities in the Morning
Heat and humidity peak from noon to 3 PM. Schedule jungle treks, cycling tours, and outdoor cooking classes for early morning. Water activities are more flexible since you're in and out of the sea.
