Sound of tree Restaurant & bar
Tucked away from the busier stretches of Ao Nang along Nopparattara Road, Sound of Tree operates as both a Thai restaurant and a bar, drawing visitors who return night after night for the quality of the cooking and the relaxed atmosphere. The venue sits adjacent to Doo Dee Resort, offering a quieter alternative to the central tourist strip while remaining close to the night market. It handles everything from casual meals to group celebrations, with repeat visitors consistently praising the fresh ingredients, generous portion sizes, and attentive service.
The food leans into classic Thai cooking, with dishes like shrimp cakes standing out among visitor favourites. The bar side is equally well regarded, with happy hour deals on Chang beer and a cocktail selection that keeps the atmosphere lively into the evening without becoming overwhelming. The combination of good food, cold drinks, and background music creates a setting that works equally well for a quiet dinner or a longer social evening.

Reviews from Google
The adjacent venue of the Doo Dee resort. This place is an absolute gem. Tucked away from the noisy and busy Ao Nang city center, there is a chill vibe restaurant with amazing food, tasty cocktails and very friendly and relaxed service. We ate here couple of times and the food never let us down. My new absolute favorite was the coconut curry. Prices are very reasonable and you also get live acoustic music several nights in a week (if not every night). The atmosphere is nice with foresty surroundings and bamboo furniture. The resort being there is not noticeable as everything blends in nicely. The cocktails deserve an honorable mention as they're crafted with a professional touch by one of the owners him self. The staff is very accomodating, polite and relaxed and service is fast. Highly recommended.
Excellent food. Really good selection and superb quality. The Shrimp Cakes were 110% the best I've ever had. Chang on happy hour 99 as are a selection of cocktails. The staff are great. The music is low and good. It's a great bar and restaurant.
Simple restaurant with tasty food! Great location nearby the night market.

Tips for Visiting Restaurants & Food
Learn the Spice Scale
Say 'mai pet' for no spice, 'pet nit noi' for a little spice, or 'pet mak' if you want it Thai-hot. Most cooks will default to a toned-down version for foreigners unless you specify otherwise.
Follow the Crowds
The busiest street stalls are almost always the best — high turnover means fresh ingredients and a recipe that locals vouch for. An empty restaurant at dinner time is a red flag.
Ice Is Safe
Factory-made tube or cylinder ice (used in virtually all restaurants and stalls) is made from purified water and is safe to consume. You don't need to skip the iced Thai tea.
