Baan Mai Rim Num AYUTTHAYA
Situated on the banks of the river along Thanon U-Thong in Ayutthaya's old city, Baan Mai Rim Num is a large, open-air riverside restaurant that draws both locals and visitors with its relaxed, homey atmosphere and scenic water views. The restaurant specialises in traditional Thai seafood dishes served family-style, with reviewers frequently praising the freshness of the ingredients and generous portion sizes. Dishes like Jungle Curry and local snack offerings stand out among returning guests, and the setting — with river views and a warm, informal feel — makes it a comfortable spot for a leisurely meal. Despite its size, the restaurant manages service efficiently, with food arriving promptly even during busier periods. The mid-range pricing makes it accessible for most travellers, and the all-day hours from 10:30 to 21:00, seven days a week, allow flexibility around sightseeing schedules in the historic city. As with many seafood-focused restaurants, quality can vary, and some visitors have noted inconsistency in seafood freshness. Arriving earlier in the day rather than during peak dinner hours may result in a better experience. The restaurant has its own website at baanmai.co.th, which is worth checking for any updates or reservations before visiting.

Visitor Reviews
They location is very convenient. Also, the restaurant is located on the bank of the river which gives a pleasant view. The service is top-notch. Food is very good too. Specially, I like the 'Jungle Curry'. River prawns are fresh and tasty too. We order 4pcs for a kilo at 1,800Baht. Bit expensive. The only downside was the dessert. I wish they have more options for desserts specially thai local desserts.
A lovely riverside restaurant with a warm, homey atmosphere. The food is incredibly fresh — you can really taste the quality, especially the seafood. Every dish was well-prepared, flavorful, and generous in portion.🌿🍽️
A local Thai restaurant by the river. Despite being a large restaurant, the service is impressively efficient and our food arrived quite quickly. Food is tasty and fresh. I also loved the local snack stalls within the restaurant for some extra treats to buy home. Ideal for group dining

Tips for Visiting Restaurants & Food
Learn the Spice Scale
Say 'mai pet' for no spice, 'pet nit noi' for a little spice, or 'pet mak' if you want it Thai-hot. Most cooks will default to a toned-down version for foreigners unless you specify otherwise.
Follow the Crowds
The busiest street stalls are almost always the best — high turnover means fresh ingredients and a recipe that locals vouch for. An empty restaurant at dinner time is a red flag.
Ice Is Safe
Factory-made tube or cylinder ice (used in virtually all restaurants and stalls) is made from purified water and is safe to consume. You don't need to skip the iced Thai tea.
