Why go, and how to do it well

If you've come off a long-tail boat at dusk, hungry and still salty, this is the kind of Ao Nang place that solves the problem without fuss. Seafood and the grill are the whole point. Casual beachwear is fine, nobody's dressing up, and it works about as well for two people as for a table of six.

Mid-range prices for this stretch, which in Ao Nang means you're paying for the location as much as the fish. What I'd actually plan around is the kitchen staying open until 23:50 every night. That's the real advantage here. Come back from a late island trip when half the street has stopped taking orders and this one is still going. Sunset through to about 20:00 is the crush, particularly November to February, so either eat early at six or push it back to nine and enjoy a quieter room.
