Ao Nang Wednesday Night Market
Running every Wednesday from 4 PM to 8 PM near the 7-Eleven in Ao Nang, this weekly market draws a predominantly local crowd and stands apart from the area's more tourist-facing markets. Visitors consistently note the significant price difference, with food often costing half or less compared to nearby landmark markets. The range of stalls covers traditional Thai street food, regional specialties, drinks, and everyday goods, all served up in a relaxed, unpretentious atmosphere that feels genuinely rooted in local daily life. The market is laid out in a single long row of stalls, which creates a lively but straightforward browsing experience. Foot traffic can become dense during busy periods, making navigation slow in peak hours. The trade-off is an authentic slice of how locals shop and eat, with vendors who are notably friendly toward visitors who do make the trip. Good to know: arriving early, around 4 PM to 5 PM, is strongly recommended. Popular food items sell out quickly as the evening progresses, and earlier arrivals also avoid the heaviest crowds. Since this is primarily a local market rather than a tourist attraction, it operates only on Wednesdays, so it is worth factoring the day into any Ao Nang itinerary.

Visitor Reviews
The Wednesday Evening Market is the market for Thais. Usually only few tourists visit this market. As usual, at such a market you can find stands with local food, as well as stands with other goods (e.g. clothes, shoes, watches, toys). The market is not big, but full of people. It is worth to come here to look around and taste the local food. However, there is actually nowhere to sit and eat the food you buy. This is a takeaway place, similar to many local markets in Bangkok or other Thai cities and towns. Prices are much lower than at "the tourist markets", e.g. Ao Nang Landmark Night Market.
Small local Wednesday market. The food here is half price or even less compared to the touristic landmark one. Come early to try everything, they run out fast.
We loved this more than the Ao Nang Landmark Market due to its affordability and authenticity. More locals at this market and way more traditional foods.

Tips for Visiting Markets & Shopping
Haggle at Markets, Not Malls
Prices at market stalls are negotiable — start at 50–60% of the asking price and meet in the middle. Fixed-price shops and malls don't haggle. Smile and keep it friendly; aggressive bargaining is considered rude.
Arrive Early or Late
Vendors believe the first sale of the day is lucky — you'll often get a better deal if you arrive right when the market opens. Late in the evening, sellers may also discount to avoid packing unsold goods.
Be Cautious with Tailors
Bangkok has excellent tailors, but also many tourist traps. Avoid anyone offering suspiciously cheap suits or who approaches you on the street. Ask your hotel for recommendations, read reviews, and always get two fittings.
