On The Roof
Perched atop the Novotel Phuket Kamala Beach resort, On The Roof is a rooftop bar that draws visitors for its elevated vantage point over Kamala, a quieter corner of Phuket's west coast. The bar has built a following among those looking for a relaxed sunset spot paired with live music and well-priced cocktails — visitors frequently highlight the happy hour promotion, which offers a buy-one-get-one deal on drinks, alongside solid food options like steamed sea bass. The atmosphere leans casual and unhurried, making it a comfortable place to settle in for an evening rather than a quick drink. Live music adds to the ambience, and the rooftop setting gives it a distinct character from the resort bars closer to the beach strip. It is worth noting that some visitors have found the sunset view partially obscured depending on where you sit, so arriving early to secure a good position is advisable. One practical heads-up: there are no external signs pointing to the bar, so first-time visitors should enter through the Novotel hotel lobby and make their way up from there. Opening hours have not been confirmed publicly, so contacting the hotel directly before visiting is recommended, particularly if planning around the sunset.

Visitor Reviews
What a great find! I am shocked that it has just a few reviews actually as the sunset view is gorgeous! This is a great bar with lovely views, great live music and inexpensive and tasty cocktails and food. It was however full at sunset, so not many more people would be able to sit actually.
Great View for the Sunset with great Food i dont know how this place got bad feedback. Only thing is there are no signs you need to use the hotel entrance
Happy hour promotion(1+1 for drink) Tasty steamed sea bass Good live music Beatiful sunset Came 2 times in a row, can rest without hassle in the hotel!😊
Tips for Visiting Nightlife & Bars
Carry Your Passport or a Copy
Clubs and some bars check IDs strictly, especially in Bangkok's Thonglor, RCA, and Sukhumvit areas. A photo of your passport info page on your phone usually works, but carrying a laminated photocopy is safer.
Know the Closing Times
Legal closing time is 2 AM for most venues, though enforcement varies. In Bangkok's designated entertainment zones (RCA, Silom Soi 2/4, Khao San), some clubs stay open until 4 AM. Islands tend to be more relaxed about hours.
Buy Bucket Drinks Cautiously
Island bucket drinks (mixed spirits in a small bucket) are cheap and fun but notoriously strong and inconsistent. Stick to one, stay hydrated, and never leave your drink unattended at beach parties.
