hom restaurant
Tucked away in the quieter Kamala district of Phuket, this fine dining restaurant has built a strong reputation for its ambitious tasting menu and distinctive setting. The restaurant is housed in a white Thai temple-inspired building surrounded by a glistening garden, creating an atmosphere that feels ceremonial before guests even step inside. The interior continues that sense of occasion with elegant, considered design that sets the tone for the evening ahead. The kitchen's focus is on fermentation, with each course of the 10-course tasting menu incorporating fermented elements in inventive and technically accomplished ways. Dishes arrive with strong presentation and a genuine wow factor, drawing comparisons to haute cuisine. The beverage programme is equally thoughtful, with a knowledgeable sommelier on hand and locally produced fermented drinks, including Sato made in Kamala, featured alongside the wine pairing. The attentive service has been a consistent highlight for diners celebrating special occasions such as anniversaries and milestone events. Good to know: Hom opens exclusively for dinner, Tuesday through Saturday, from 18:30 until midnight, and is closed on Sundays and Mondays. Given the tasting menu format and intimate setting, advance reservations are strongly recommended, particularly on weekends. Visiting the restaurant's website at hom-restaurant.com to review the current menu and book a table before arriving is advisable.

Visitor Reviews
Our first time dining at Hom Restaurant, and it was an absolutely amazing experience that exceeded all our expectations! We opted for the 10-course tasting menu, and every single dish was a masterpiece of culinary creativity—artfully crafted to highlight authentic Thai local ingredients while honoring the rich cultural heritage of Thailand. Each bite told a story, with bold, balanced flavors and meticulous presentation that made the meal feel like a true sensory journey. To top it all off, the service was impeccable: attentive, warm, and knowledgeable, with the staff happily sharing insights about the dishes and their cultural backgrounds. They went above and beyond to ensure our dining experience was seamless and memorable. We left feeling thoroughly satisfied and already looking forward to our next visit. If you’re seeking an exceptional fine dining experience that celebrates Thai cuisine in its most elevated form, Hom Restaurant is a must-try—we can’t recommend it highly enough!
Such a beautiful and memorable fine dining experience at Hom. My husband and I came here to celebrate our wedding anniversary, and it couldn’t have been more perfect 🤍 We chose the full 10-course tasting menu with wine pairing — and it was absolutely worth it. The wine selection was exceptional; each pairing complemented the dishes beautifully and introduced unique, interesting flavors we wouldn’t have discovered on our own. The food itself was incredibly creative, especially with the use of fermentation techniques. Every course felt refined, clean, and thoughtfully balanced. Despite having 10 courses, we didn’t feel overly full — just perfectly satisfied. The ambience is stunning. The staff explained that the design was inspired to resemble an ideal heaven, and I truly felt that. The setting feels almost cinematic — like stepping into a scene from a movie. Highly recommended for a special occasion. Next time, we might just stay at the resort as well 🙈✨
Our experience started by walking through the glistening garden towards this iconic white Thai-temple-liked restaurant (which reminds me of the famous white temple in Chiang Rai). Interior is elegant and minimal. We had the 7-moment menu with add-on and the unique alcohol-pairing. Food is cooked in innovative ways with focus on local produce, presented artistically. Staff are highly trained with personalized attention. Though I am a bit suprised to see there is no age restriction for dinner time at such fine - dining setting. I saw kids crawling under table with tantrum. Luckily that was only for a brief moment.

Learn the Spice Scale
Say 'mai pet' for no spice, 'pet nit noi' for a little spice, or 'pet mak' if you want it Thai-hot. Most cooks will default to a toned-down version for foreigners unless you specify otherwise.
Follow the Crowds
The busiest street stalls are almost always the best — high turnover means fresh ingredients and a recipe that locals vouch for. An empty restaurant at dinner time is a red flag.
Ice Is Safe
Factory-made tube or cylinder ice (used in virtually all restaurants and stalls) is made from purified water and is safe to consume. You don't need to skip the iced Thai tea.
