Café del Mar Phuket Beach Club
This is a sunset venue first and a club second, and it works best if you treat it that way. It sits right on Kamala Beach, which is a calmer stretch than Patong, facing west across the water. Get there around 4 or 5pm and you'll have a table, the light, and time to settle in before the evening crowd arrives. Regulars say that window is the sweet spot, and I'd agree with them.
The food and the cocktails hold up, which isn't always true of beach clubs trading on a name. Service gets named-checked in reviews more than most places manage. What you should know is that the music is loud even at lunch, loud enough that people have complained about shouting across the table, so if you want a relaxed midday meal with conversation, go elsewhere. Evenings depend heavily on who's playing. The sound system and production are the draw, but a lineup you don't care for makes it an expensive night.

Reviews from Google
I visited for the first time with 3 friends and honestly, I wanted to love this place. The food was excellent, the staff inside were great, and the vibe lived up to the Phuket 'must-visit' reputation. Our group actually flew all the way from Bangkok just for this, as we’re big fans of the nightlife in Phuket and always plan our birthday trips here. But I have to say, the experience with the reception team was incredibly disappointing and just... unprofessional. I’m planning my birthday in April for a group of about 15 people (all flying in from BKK). I tried to ask the 3 staff members at the front about pricing and table capacity for Saturday, April 4th—just basic info so I could start planning. Shockingly, they refused to give even a baseline figure, just repeating that they 'didn't know' because there might be an event. I’ve been to beach clubs all over—Bali, Las Vegas, and even Yona Beach Club nearby—and every professional venue has a standard rate card. Even if prices change for events, they should at least be able to give a 'starting from' price or tell me how many people fit at a table. The staff seemed totally dismissive, almost like they couldn't be bothered to help a Thai customer. It’s such a shame. The food is 5-star, but the service at the door is near zero. We usually spend a lot on these birthday trips, but because they couldn't give me any clear info, I’ll be taking my group of 15 and our budget elsewhere. Plenty of other world-class spots in Phuket actually value their guests' time. I won’t be returning. 🚩 Update: Since my last review, I was personally contacted by Karolina from the management team. I have to say, I'm really impressed with how they handled everything. They genuinely listened to my concerns and offered a very fair solution for my upcoming birthday trip. It’s clear now that they truly care about their guests' experience and are committed to fixing any service gaps. Really appreciate the personal touch and professionalism. Looking forward to celebrating my birthday here in April!
Café del Mar Phuket is a perfect spot to relax and enjoy the island vibe. The location is amazing — right on the beach with beautiful sunset views, especially in the evening. The atmosphere is stylish but still very comfortable, great music, and a nice crowd. Service was excellent: attentive, friendly, and professional without being intrusive. Drinks and cocktails were well-prepared, and the overall experience felt high-quality and well-organized. If you’re looking for a place to chill with friends, enjoy good music, sunset views, and a classy beach club atmosphere, this is definitely worth visiting. Would happily come back again.
Café del Mar is a great spot at night if you come for the party, I’ve been many times for the club, and whenever there were DJs I liked, I always had a really fun time. The vibe, production, and overall atmosphere are definitely what this venue is known for. However, I recently came for lunch with friends, and the experience was very different. In the dining area the music was way too loud we literally had to shout just to have a normal conversation. For a lunchtime setting, it felt unnecessary and uncomfortable. The food also didn’t match the level of the venue or the prices. It honestly feels like you’re paying mostly for the brand name, rather than getting great value for the meal. On the positive side, the shisha was very good. Staff-wise: the bodyguards at the entrance were very kind and professional, while the table service was less welcoming not very smiley. Overall, it can be fun for nightlife, but as a beach club experience, there are better options in Phuket.

Tips for Visiting Nightlife & Bars
Carry Your Passport or a Copy
Clubs and some bars check IDs strictly, especially in Bangkok's Thonglor, RCA, and Sukhumvit areas. A photo of your passport info page on your phone usually works, but carrying a laminated photocopy is safer.
Know the Closing Times
Legal closing time is 2 AM for most venues, though enforcement varies. In Bangkok's designated entertainment zones (RCA, Silom Soi 2/4, Khao San), some clubs stay open until 4 AM. Islands tend to be more relaxed about hours.
Buy Bucket Drinks Cautiously
Island bucket drinks (mixed spirits in a small bucket) are cheap and fun but notoriously strong and inconsistent. Stick to one, stay hydrated, and never leave your drink unattended at beach parties.
