Café del Mar Phuket Beach Club
Café del Mar Phuket brings its internationally recognised beach club brand to Kamala, one of Phuket's more relaxed stretches of coastline. Positioned right on the beach, the venue draws visitors with a combination of stylish surroundings, live DJ sets, quality food, and the kind of front-row sunset views that make the western shoreline worth seeking out. The atmosphere shifts throughout the day and evening — from a laid-back afternoon hangout to a more energetic club environment when featured DJs are performing. The venue functions as both a restaurant and bar, with visitors noting that the food holds up well alongside the drinks and the overall production. Staff have drawn consistent praise for attentiveness and warmth, which contributes to the polished experience the upscale pricing reflects. Those coming specifically for the club nights will find the energy and sound production to be a highlight, though the experience can vary depending on the lineup on any given night. A practical note: arriving between 4 and 5 PM is widely recommended by visitors — early enough to claim a good table, catch the full sunset, and settle into the atmosphere before the evening crowd builds. Kamala itself is noticeably calmer than Patong, so this suits travellers who want a genuine beach club experience without the intensity of Phuket's busiest nightlife strip. As opening hours are not confirmed online, checking ahead before visiting is advisable, particularly outside peak season.

Visitor Reviews
I visited for the first time with 3 friends and honestly, I wanted to love this place. The food was excellent, the staff inside were great, and the vibe lived up to the Phuket 'must-visit' reputation. Our group actually flew all the way from Bangkok just for this, as we’re big fans of the nightlife in Phuket and always plan our birthday trips here. But I have to say, the experience with the reception team was incredibly disappointing and just... unprofessional. I’m planning my birthday in April for a group of about 15 people (all flying in from BKK). I tried to ask the 3 staff members at the front about pricing and table capacity for Saturday, April 4th—just basic info so I could start planning. Shockingly, they refused to give even a baseline figure, just repeating that they 'didn't know' because there might be an event. I’ve been to beach clubs all over—Bali, Las Vegas, and even Yona Beach Club nearby—and every professional venue has a standard rate card. Even if prices change for events, they should at least be able to give a 'starting from' price or tell me how many people fit at a table. The staff seemed totally dismissive, almost like they couldn't be bothered to help a Thai customer. It’s such a shame. The food is 5-star, but the service at the door is near zero. We usually spend a lot on these birthday trips, but because they couldn't give me any clear info, I’ll be taking my group of 15 and our budget elsewhere. Plenty of other world-class spots in Phuket actually value their guests' time. I won’t be returning. 🚩 Update: Since my last review, I was personally contacted by Karolina from the management team. I have to say, I'm really impressed with how they handled everything. They genuinely listened to my concerns and offered a very fair solution for my upcoming birthday trip. It’s clear now that they truly care about their guests' experience and are committed to fixing any service gaps. Really appreciate the personal touch and professionalism. Looking forward to celebrating my birthday here in April!
Great place for a relaxed beach vibe and sundowners. The best time to reach is around 4–5 PM, when you can enjoy the atmosphere, music, and sunset without too much rush. You can take a table anywhere, but note that restaurant tables usually don’t give access to the pool area. That said, pool access isn’t really necessary because the beach setting itself is the main attraction, and it’s a public beach with a great vibe. If you're visiting on Friday, Saturday, or Sunday, make sure to stay for the 7 PM fire show on the beach — it's beautiful and definitely not to be missed. Overall, a great spot for sundowners, music, and a lively beach atmosphere.
Café del Mar Phuket is a perfect spot to relax and enjoy the island vibe. The location is amazing — right on the beach with beautiful sunset views, especially in the evening. The atmosphere is stylish but still very comfortable, great music, and a nice crowd. Service was excellent: attentive, friendly, and professional without being intrusive. Drinks and cocktails were well-prepared, and the overall experience felt high-quality and well-organized. If you’re looking for a place to chill with friends, enjoy good music, sunset views, and a classy beach club atmosphere, this is definitely worth visiting. Would happily come back again.
Tips for Visiting Nightlife & Bars
Carry Your Passport or a Copy
Clubs and some bars check IDs strictly, especially in Bangkok's Thonglor, RCA, and Sukhumvit areas. A photo of your passport info page on your phone usually works, but carrying a laminated photocopy is safer.
Know the Closing Times
Legal closing time is 2 AM for most venues, though enforcement varies. In Bangkok's designated entertainment zones (RCA, Silom Soi 2/4, Khao San), some clubs stay open until 4 AM. Islands tend to be more relaxed about hours.
Buy Bucket Drinks Cautiously
Island bucket drinks (mixed spirits in a small bucket) are cheap and fun but notoriously strong and inconsistent. Stick to one, stay hydrated, and never leave your drink unattended at beach parties.
