Nong Beer Restaurant
A well-established casual eatery on Khet Khelang Road, Nong Beer sits conveniently near Pai's Walking Street and draws a consistent crowd of locals and returning travellers. The menu focuses on traditional Northern Thai cooking, with Kao Soi, Pad Thai, morning glory, and red curry among the regularly ordered dishes. The relaxed, unfussy atmosphere suits Pai's laid-back mountain town character, and the owners and staff earn frequent praise in visitor feedback for their warmth and attentiveness. Some guests have returned night after night across extended stays, which speaks to the kitchen's reliability and the overall appeal of the experience. Prices sit firmly at the budget end of the scale, making it a practical choice for travellers watching their spending without wanting to sacrifice flavour or portion size. The dining room fills up quickly, particularly during peak meal hours, so the place can get lively and wait times for food may stretch during busy periods — a point worth keeping in mind rather than a reason to avoid it. Nong Beer is open every day from 10:00 AM to 9:30 PM, covering lunch through to dinner. Arriving slightly ahead of the main meal rushes — around 11:30 AM or 5:30 PM — can help avoid the longest waits. There is no website, so menu questions or any other enquiries are best handled by visiting in person. Relaxed, casual clothing is entirely appropriate for the setting.

Visitor Reviews
Someone recommended this to us and so we went down because we’ve never been here before and we really liked it. We tried the day the morning glory we had some soup we had the Kao Soi chicken. It is all really good. We actually asked them to make it less spicy and they did and tasted really amazing. I would highly recommend coming here if you haven’t had anything and you want some more traditional foods but not anything crazy and it’s right across from 7-Eleven so easy inconvenient to get to stuff and you’re right on the walking Street market so when we get done eating you can go and do shopping and browsing and pick up some street food like desserts and snacks and stuff as well I hope you find this helpful
This place is great, it was my favorite spot for lunch everyday. Amazing authentic thai food, a lot of options, good service friendly and helpful, food might take some time because the place is always full but it wont take too long and its worth the wait, best panang curry i had, i love this place and hope to be back soon to enjoy it again.
We loved this place so much that we went back almost every night for two weeks 🤣. Amazing Pad Thai! And the owners and waiters are so nice!!! Highly recommended. 🫶🏻😋

Tips for Visiting Restaurants & Food
Learn the Spice Scale
Say 'mai pet' for no spice, 'pet nit noi' for a little spice, or 'pet mak' if you want it Thai-hot. Most cooks will default to a toned-down version for foreigners unless you specify otherwise.
Follow the Crowds
The busiest street stalls are almost always the best — high turnover means fresh ingredients and a recipe that locals vouch for. An empty restaurant at dinner time is a red flag.
Ice Is Safe
Factory-made tube or cylinder ice (used in virtually all restaurants and stalls) is made from purified water and is safe to consume. You don't need to skip the iced Thai tea.
