View Rooftop Bangkok
Go for the risotto, not the view. At nine floors up you're well below the skyline bars that charge a fortune for altitude, and the panorama is modest by Bangkok standards. What you get instead is a rooftop that costs a good deal less, food people rave about, and staff who actually seem glad you turned up. The mushroom risotto is the dish reviewers keep coming back to, and the bartenders will steer you towards something on the cocktail list if you ask. A violinist plays in the background, which sounds like a gimmick and apparently isn't.
It sits on top of the Novotel at Platinum Pratunam, so you're in shopping territory on Thanon Phetchaburi and easy to find. That makes it a decent landing spot after a morning in the malls, or a proper dinner if you want a rooftop without the bill that usually comes with one. Walk-ins get looked after, going by the reviews. Late afternoon into early evening is when I'd aim to arrive, before the light goes.

Garfield and staff are incredibly friendly and very helpful. I also enjoyed a new drink which Garfield recommended qhich was the Lemoncino Spritz. Although i didnt eat here, the menu looked fantastic. I did however enjoy complimentary warm spiced peanuts and prawn crackers that were delicious. This is my second time here and i wull definately be back.
Perfect last evening with delicious food and good drinks. The crew is super nice and we had very good recommendations from Garfild who has a great sense of humor and a very good service mindset.
Just popped in for a quick drink. Not the biggest, highest or best view from a rooftop bar, but it has a good vibe. Amazing violinist playing in the background.

Tips for Visiting Nightlife & Bars
Carry Your Passport or a Copy
Clubs and some bars check IDs strictly, especially in Bangkok's Thonglor, RCA, and Sukhumvit areas. A photo of your passport info page on your phone usually works, but carrying a laminated photocopy is safer.
Know the Closing Times
Legal closing time is 2 AM for most venues, though enforcement varies. In Bangkok's designated entertainment zones (RCA, Silom Soi 2/4, Khao San), some clubs stay open until 4 AM. Islands tend to be more relaxed about hours.
Buy Bucket Drinks Cautiously
Island bucket drinks (mixed spirits in a small bucket) are cheap and fun but notoriously strong and inconsistent. Stick to one, stay hydrated, and never leave your drink unattended at beach parties.
