Go for the price, not the altitude. View sits on the 9th floor of the Novotel Bangkok Platinum Pratunam, well below the skyline bars that charge a fortune for height, and the outlook is across the shopping streets of Pratunam and Ratchaprasong rather than the river. What you get instead is a Mediterranean-leaning terrace that costs a good deal less than the famous rooftops, and staff who seem glad you came up.

The bar's own offers are the reason I'd time a visit. Classic cocktails are two-for-one between 17:00 and 18:00, drinks start from ฿320++ before six, and from 18:00 there's a bucket of four Coronas for ฿799++. For dinner, sharing menus start at ฿4,520++ for two and Tuesday is steak night at ฿1,200++. Prices carry the usual 10% service and 7% VAT on top.

It's on Phetchaburi Road above the Platinum Fashion Mall, so ride the hotel's lobby lift to the 9th floor. BTS Chit Lom is about eight minutes on foot along the R Walk skywalk. Garfield and staff are incredibly friendly and very helpful. I also enjoyed a new drink which Garfield recommended qhich was the Lemoncino Spritz. Although i didnt eat here, the menu looked fantastic. I did however enjoy complimentary warm spiced peanuts and prawn crackers that were delicious. This is my second time here and i wull definately be back.

Perfect last evening with delicious food and good drinks. The crew is super nice and we had very good recommendations from Garfild who has a great sense of humor and a very good service mindset.

Just popped in for a quick drink. Not the biggest, highest or best view from a rooftop bar, but it has a good vibe. Amazing violinist playing in the background.
