Vanilla Sky Rooftop Bar
Perched on the 35th floor of SKYVIEW Hotel along Soi Sukhumvit 24, this rooftop bar offers sweeping panoramic views over Bangkok's glittering skyline without the intense noise or crowds that can define rooftop venues elsewhere in the city. Visitors consistently note that the music volume is kept at a sociable level, making it a genuinely comfortable place to hold a conversation — a point of difference worth noting for those who find many Bangkok rooftop bars overwhelming. The bar leans into a relaxed, chilled atmosphere rather than a high-energy club setting, with a resident DJ mixing ambient sets that complement rather than dominate the experience. Creative cocktails are a highlight, and the kitchen offers food options including appetisers, though some items skew towards the pricier end. Service receives strong praise from visitors. With mid-range pricing and no minimum spend reported, it sits in an accessible sweet spot between budget bars and premium sky-high venues. Good to know: Opening hours are not publicly listed online, so it is worth contacting SKYVIEW Hotel directly before visiting to confirm times and check whether reservations are needed. Weekend evenings tend to be busier, and arriving at dusk is recommended to catch the transition from daylight to the city lights at night. Smart-casual dress is appropriate — beachwear and very casual attire may not be suitable for rooftop venues in this part of Sukhumvit.

Visitor Reviews
Beautiful skyline view from this hotel rooftop bar! Creative cocktails and some fairly tasty (and pricey) guacamole appetizers to boot. Service was top notch too but they want you to leave a tip if you pay by credit card, which I have never seen in Bangkok. Also, two drinks and an appetizer set me back $43 USD so this place is not cheap! Moreover, be warned, there are some stairs to navigate before reaching this beautiful perch….Definitely worth it to see the GORGEOUS view. All in all, a nice escape from thinking about how horrible, ugly, and embarrassing our new USA President is!
A chilling rooftop bar. The view is really great and the cocktails are creative and delicious. They also have a live DJ and he mixed a great music. So it’s more a place to sip a drink, listen to the music and enjoy the view. 🍹🍸 The cocktails are pricey but it’s common for a rooftop bar in Bangkok.
A great last night in Bangkok spot. Music is perfect and surprisingly not too loud compared to a lot of rooftop bars. You can actually have a conversation with friends. Heart of downtown with amazing views. Good prices on drinks and chill atmosphere. A must stop for any seasoned traveler.
Tips for Visiting Nightlife & Bars
Carry Your Passport or a Copy
Clubs and some bars check IDs strictly, especially in Bangkok's Thonglor, RCA, and Sukhumvit areas. A photo of your passport info page on your phone usually works, but carrying a laminated photocopy is safer.
Know the Closing Times
Legal closing time is 2 AM for most venues, though enforcement varies. In Bangkok's designated entertainment zones (RCA, Silom Soi 2/4, Khao San), some clubs stay open until 4 AM. Islands tend to be more relaxed about hours.
Buy Bucket Drinks Cautiously
Island bucket drinks (mixed spirits in a small bucket) are cheap and fun but notoriously strong and inconsistent. Stick to one, stay hydrated, and never leave your drink unattended at beach parties.
