Tai Soon Bar
Tucked along historic Maha Chai Road in Bangkok's Phra Nakhon district, this craft beer bar stands out even before you step inside, with a distinctive exterior that catches the eye of passers-by. Inside, the atmosphere is relaxed but characterful, pairing live music with an impressive selection of around 20 craft beers, including some notably strong options worth approaching with caution. The bar sits within easy walking distance of Chinatown, making it a natural stop for those exploring the Old City area beyond the main tourist corridors. Staff are noted for their knowledge of the beer range and are happy to offer small samples to help guests choose. Beyond drinks, the kitchen turns out food worth ordering, with spring rolls and truffle dumplings among the standout items. Cocktails are also on offer, with staff willing to make personalised suggestions. The overall vibe is social and unpretentious, drawing a mix of locals and visitors looking for something with a bit more character than a standard tourist bar. Good to know: some visitors who book and pay in advance have reported receiving a more limited menu selection, so it may be worth checking current booking arrangements before reserving a table. As specific opening hours are not listed online, confirming ahead of your visit is advisable, particularly on public holidays. The area is well-connected by public transport and walkable from central Bangkok.

Visitor Reviews
A great craft beer bar just a short walk from Neighbor Phuthon. From the outside, the place already stands out with its beautiful style, and stepping inside feels just as special. The atmosphere is relaxed and elegant, often with live music in the background. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable, happy to guide you through the menu and even offer small tastings before you choose. With around 20 craft beers available, there’s plenty to explore. Just a friendly note, some beers are quite strong, so take your time and enjoy the night. A fun stop for craft beer lovers looking for good drinks and a memorable evening in Bangkok Old Town. 📍 Tai Soon Bar, near Neighbor Phuthon
I’ve walked past this bar for a long time, admiring its beautiful style from the outside. Today, I finally stepped in—live music, an elegant atmosphere, and an impressive selection of 20 craft beers on the menu. On my second craft beer now, genuinely happy, and highly recommend that fellow craft beer lovers stop by and experience this place for themselves.
Great craft bar not too far from Chinatown. Helpful staff who are knowledgeable about the craft beers and will allow you to try a small sample. Be careful some of the beers are very strong and I can't remember getting home. Had a great time and highly recommended.

Tips for Visiting Nightlife & Bars
Carry Your Passport or a Copy
Clubs and some bars check IDs strictly, especially in Bangkok's Thonglor, RCA, and Sukhumvit areas. A photo of your passport info page on your phone usually works, but carrying a laminated photocopy is safer.
Know the Closing Times
Legal closing time is 2 AM for most venues, though enforcement varies. In Bangkok's designated entertainment zones (RCA, Silom Soi 2/4, Khao San), some clubs stay open until 4 AM. Islands tend to be more relaxed about hours.
Buy Bucket Drinks Cautiously
Island bucket drinks (mixed spirits in a small bucket) are cheap and fun but notoriously strong and inconsistent. Stick to one, stay hydrated, and never leave your drink unattended at beach parties.
