Kodtalay Seafood Buffet Sukhumvit
Kodtalay Seafood Buffet draws crowds to Bangkok's Bang Na district with its live-tank seafood, generous buffet spread, and strong value pricing. Diners select fresh river prawns and crab directly from aquarium tanks, which are then grilled tableside, alongside a wide selection of shellfish, hot dishes, and other seafood served from ice trays. The standard buffet is priced at 499 baht, with an optional free-flow drinks package available for an additional 49 baht — a combination that many visitors consider excellent value for the quantity and freshness on offer. The atmosphere is casual and energetic rather than formal, with the restaurant filling up quickly after opening. The open-air setup includes industrial fans for ventilation, which keeps things comfortable but can affect seating conditions depending on where guests are placed. The venue suits groups and families well, and the format encourages a relaxed, social style of dining. Good to know: Reservations are strongly recommended, as the restaurant regularly reaches capacity within the first hour of service. Weekday doors open at 4 PM, while weekends start an hour earlier at 3 PM, with service running until midnight. Arriving at opening time is the best way to secure good seating and avoid the peak crowd. Some visitors have noted discrepancies on bills, so it is worth reviewing the check before paying. Visitor Reviews
We were two people and went with the 499+49 option. It was the best way to spend Christmas eve! It’s an awesome experience for two people or large groups. The food is fresh fresh fresh and all the staff has been very helpful. We are not used to cook our own crabs so they were helpful telling us how to cook it and how to open it. It’s the wonderland of food, unlimited time allows you to relax and enjoy the experience instead of overeating fast. It is a bit hot (this is not an air conditioned room) but there are some big fans to keep the airflow going. Make sure to put foil when you cook something else than shell fish so the sauce and fat doesn’t fall on the coal creating more smoke. Thank you for the experience, we’ll be back! 😍
Bang for your buck seafood buffet in Bangkok. Their river prawns which you can get fresh from the aquarium tank and grilled on your table in next to no time. A lot of variety of seafood, hot food and cold food. You can grab it yourself or use the barcode and they will bring it to you. So much variety and if you are a seafood lover then you cannot miss this place when visiting Bangkok 🇹🇭
A popular and solid choice for a seafood buffet in Bangkok. Live prawn and crab from clean tanks, or a variety of prawn, crab, shellfish, and other seafood from the ice trays. Standard $499 baht buffet also includes a sushi area, warm food section with various deep fried, noodle, and rice items, vegetables, chef area, and various self-serve ice cream. Great variety for the price. Service staff are some of the hardest working anywhere. Used dishes were cleared away promptly, even refilling the hot coals after an hour. The overall cleanliness of the place is decent. 3 hand wash stations outside the washrooms, two with soap, no towels to dry hands. Stainless ice buckets are available to fill with water and take to your table to rinse your hands after peeling prawns and breaking crabs. Overall a good buffet with good value at $499 baht, no time limit on eating like many other buffets. Unlimited soft drinks for an additional $49 baht per person, but selection is very limited.

Learn the Spice Scale
Say 'mai pet' for no spice, 'pet nit noi' for a little spice, or 'pet mak' if you want it Thai-hot. Most cooks will default to a toned-down version for foreigners unless you specify otherwise.
Follow the Crowds
The busiest street stalls are almost always the best — high turnover means fresh ingredients and a recipe that locals vouch for. An empty restaurant at dinner time is a red flag.
Ice Is Safe
Factory-made tube or cylinder ice (used in virtually all restaurants and stalls) is made from purified water and is safe to consume. You don't need to skip the iced Thai tea.
