BUDDY Shopping Plaza
Sitting at the heart of the legendary Khao San Road backpacker strip, Buddy Shopping Plaza is a multi-level mall that has evolved into one of the more eclectic retail destinations in central Bangkok. The complex houses an unusually varied mix of tenants, including anime and collectible figure shops stocked with everything from small retail-priced statues to large-scale art pieces, a gym, a Coffee World cafe, a convenience store, a restaurant, and multiple cannabis dispensaries, reflecting Thailand's evolving medical cannabis landscape. It is also connected to Buddy Lodge, giving it a lively, around-the-clock atmosphere that extends well beyond typical shopping hours. Visitors can expect a casual, energetic environment shaped heavily by the surrounding Khao San Road scene. The figure and collectibles shops in particular draw enthusiasts who may not expect the depth of selection on offer. The cannabis dispensaries have become a draw of their own since Thailand's regulatory shift, and the overall vibe leans youthful and international. Good to know: Specific opening hours are not listed, so it is worth checking individual tenants before making a special trip. The Khao San Road area is at its busiest and most atmospheric in the evenings, but shoppers seeking a quieter browse are better served visiting in the late morning or early afternoon. The plaza is easily reached by taxi or tuk-tuk, and several river ferry piers are within walking distance.

Visitor Reviews
I went there to look for anime figures and I wasn't prepared for the incredible variety of different shops. You can get many figures from small statues at retail prices to massive art-design figures for over 1000 US dollars.
I go to Coffee World for great Thai coffee and I go to the Buddy Lodge gym. Only workout place around Khao San

Tips for Visiting Markets & Shopping
Haggle at Markets, Not Malls
Prices at market stalls are negotiable — start at 50–60% of the asking price and meet in the middle. Fixed-price shops and malls don't haggle. Smile and keep it friendly; aggressive bargaining is considered rude.
Arrive Early or Late
Vendors believe the first sale of the day is lucky — you'll often get a better deal if you arrive right when the market opens. Late in the evening, sellers may also discount to avoid packing unsold goods.
Be Cautious with Tailors
Bangkok has excellent tailors, but also many tourist traps. Avoid anyone offering suspiciously cheap suits or who approaches you on the street. Ask your hotel for recommendations, read reviews, and always get two fittings.
