Sole Mio Boutique Hotel & Wellness
Situated in the Cherngtalay district of Thalang, this boutique hotel and spa occupies a calm corner of Phuket away from the congestion of Patong and Kata. The property leans into a wellness identity, offering sauna, steam room, and cold room facilities alongside spa services, making it a practical choice for travellers who want more from their stay than standard accommodation. Its location also puts guests within easy reach of Bang Tao Beach and the area's popular beach clubs. Rooms are described by guests as fresh, stylish, and well-soundproofed, with comfortable beds, a choice of pillows, sofas, and working desks. Staff consistently receive strong praise for warmth and attentiveness, and the property includes a private pool area. The hotel suits both those seeking a genuine wellness retreat and travellers using it as a base for broader island exploration. Good to know: The hotel does not sit directly on the beach, so guests prioritising beach access may want to weigh the short distance against staying beachfront. Breakfast options have been noted as limited by some guests, so it is worth factoring in nearby dining when planning your stay. Transport is recommended, as the Thalang area is quieter and spread out. Check the hotel website directly for current wellness packages and seasonal rates.

Visitor Reviews
It was really comfortable staying in this fresh hotel. ROOMS: fresh and stylish rooms with good soundproof. Here you can find comfortable bed with different types of pillows, sofa, working desk, TV and small kitchen zone (dishes and glasses, teapot and coffee machine, oven, fridge, microwave) in the room. The room is also equipped with a safe, some sport utilities (yoga mat and etc), Every room has a cozy balcony with table and chairs, the hotel’s configuration allows you not to hear your neighbors - you feel very secluded in the balcony. FOOD: breakfast buffet (7-10:30am) with regular set of dishes: eggs (they also can make eggs your way), vegetables, meat/fish as cold appetizers, some hot dishes, bread and pastries, yoghurts and fruits. Good choice, everyone can find something for them. In-room dining is available 11am-10:30pm. There is restaurant on site with cozy dining: lights, sea view etc. BEACH: 6min walk to the beach, you can also use free shuttle bus. I’d recommend to go from the hotel to the left side for beach access - this way isn’t overcrowded by cars and people, so more comfortable. LOCATION: 50min drive from the airport, 6min walk to the beach, pharmacy, restaurants and shops are in 1-2min distance by feet as well. FACILITIES: good wi-fi, outdoor rooftop swimming pool, gym, yoga zone, group classes, SPA complex and clinics. You can order a private transfer from/to the airport. STAFF: friendly and welcoming.
This is a true 5-star property and it absolutely shows. The staff are exceptional. Warm, attentive, and genuinely eager to help at every turn. Our room was beautiful, and the bed was hands-down the most comfortable we have slept on anywhere in Thailand so far. Bonus points for offering memory foam pillows, which felt like a small miracle after weeks of travel. Breakfast was excellent, the views were calm and lovely, and the shuttle service to the beach and Boat Avenue made getting around easy and stress-free. A heads-up for future guests: there is significant construction in the Bang Tao area right now, and the area has a very large Russian tourist presence. That is more about the neighborhood than the hotel itself, but worth knowing in advance. Overall, Sole Mio delivers on comfort, service, and quality. A peaceful, well-run stay with a staff that truly stands out.
Great location near the Good beach clubs. We got an upgrade for free because they were fully booked. The sauna, steam room and cold room were great. Cons is that the breakfast is extremely limited with very low diversity for the price, they give no towels to the pool, and we were rushed to checkout even though the cleaners were not at our room yet. The staff is extremely nice though, Benz was very helpful and helped out with a bag situation we had. Boy was also the most welcoming and joyful person and always left us with a smile!
Tips for Visiting Hotels & Resorts
Book Shoulder Season
May–June and September–October offer dramatic discounts (30–50% off peak rates) with fewer crowds. Weather is mixed but rarely a washout — afternoon showers clear quickly.
Compare OTAs and Direct Rates
Always check the hotel's own website after finding a rate on Agoda or Booking.com. Many Thai properties offer a best-rate guarantee or throw in perks like free breakfast when you book direct.
Pool Villa Doesn't Mean Expensive
Private pool villas in Krabi, Hua Hin, and Chiang Mai start around 2,500–4,000 THB/night — a fraction of Bali or Maldives prices. Search specifically for 'pool villa' to surface hidden gems.
