Diamond Resort Phuket

4.6(1,819 reviews)

If your idea of Phuket involves neon and Bangla Road, book somewhere else. This is a slow, green, suite-based place in Cherngtalay, a stretch of the island that never got as built up as Patong, and guests who stay a week or a month tend to talk about the same things: a courtyard pool ringed with tropical planting, rooms kept spotless day after day, and staff who take your bags before you've worked out where reception is.

Breakfast is the sleeper hit. Reviewers single out the pastries and bread, and while the buffet isn't as sprawling as the big five-star operations up the coast, the quality holds its own. Families do well here, helped by the free beach shuttle, which saves the daily negotiation over transport. Couples after total silence should know the on-site restaurant sometimes runs live music that carries into rooms until around 11pm or midnight, even though the pool shuts at nine or ten. It's not loud, but it's there.

I really liked this hotel. The staff were friendly and polite, the location was convenient, and the views were beautiful. The only downside was a small inconsistency in the hotel’s “quiet hours” logic: there’s a restaurant on-site that sometimes hosts live concerts, and the music can be heard in our room until around 11 pm or midnight (not extremely loud, but definitely noticeable). At the same time, the pool closes around 9–10 pm, supposedly to keep things quiet for guests at night. Other than that, I would definitely recommend this hotel! 😊

We had a fantastic family stay and really enjoyed our time here. The location is excellent, with easy access to nearby areas, and the shuttle service was very useful and reliable. The facilities are well maintained and ideal for a family holiday, offering everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The staff were attentive, friendly, and consistently helpful. A special mention goes to Nan, the Guest Relations Manager, who went well above and beyond to ensure our stay was smooth and memorable. Her dedication and personal touch truly stood out. Overall, a great property that we would happily recommend and return to.

4-Star Review – Diamond Resort I stayed here for a month, and to keep it simple: the grounds are truly beautiful. The pool area sits in a lovely courtyard surrounded by lush greenery, tropical plants, and vibrant flowers. It’s a gorgeous place to relax. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the staff throughout the property were consistently warm and welcoming. Even though we were staying in a privately owned unit, everyone from the gardeners to the cleaners to the general staff treated us with the same friendliness. A special shout-out goes to the security guard at the front gate. He was genuinely the highlight of my stay. Every day he greeted us with such happiness and positivity - it really set the tone for the day. If you’ve stayed at this property, you definitely know what I mean. I tried the breakfast buffet once. It was good, clean, plenty of selection, and lots of coffee. Nothing extraordinary, but definitely satisfying. If it was great, I would’ve gone back several times, but decided I’d rather eat at home or at a couple of great breakfast places nearby Now for the area I think could use the most improvement: the gym and sauna. As someone who really values health and wellness, I was looking forward to using them regularly. Unfortunately, the gym is dated and could really benefit from a refresh, new equipment, or even relocation to a larger space. I ended up joining a local gym in Bang Jo near my Muay Thai gym instead. The sauna, however, was the real issue. It’s located inside the bathroom next to the restaurant, which means it’s heavily used by guests and staff throughout the morning and day. After breakfast especially, the washroom had strong, unpleasant odours 💩💩, which were then intensified by the sauna’s heat. I tried airing it out a few times by propping the door open, but it didn’t help much. I eventually gave up on using the sauna altogether. If the gym ever gets relocated or renovated, I think adding proper men’s and women’s saunas in a dedicated wellness area would make a huge difference. Despite these concerns, I would absolutely return to this property. I’d just plan on using an outside gym or sauna next time
