Situated along the river in the heart of Kanchanaburi's tourist district, Riverpool Resort offers a quiet retreat despite its central location. Tucked down a side street on a generous property, the resort provides easy access to the area's main attractions while maintaining a calm, unhurried atmosphere. Rooms are clean and well-furnished, with comfortable beds and notably large ensuite bathrooms featuring walk-in showers with good water pressure. The property has a soaking pool, a restaurant, and free Wi-Fi throughout. Guests staying in river-facing rooms benefit from direct water views, adding a pleasant backdrop to an otherwise straightforward stay. The owners and management are frequently praised by visitors for being welcoming and helpful, contributing to a generally warm and personal atmosphere that larger hotels in the area may not offer. It is worth noting that guest experiences have been mixed in some areas, with a small number of visitors raising concerns about pool cleanliness and insects in certain rooms. Prospective guests who are particularly sensitive to these issues may want to contact the resort directly before booking to confirm current conditions. The resort operates daily from 6am to midnight, making it flexible for both early arrivals and late check-ins. Given the riverside setting and central position, this property suits travellers looking for a no-frills but comfortable base from which to explore Kanchanaburi.

Visitor Reviews
Good place in very central spot. It is on the river and in the middle of the tourist area. It's off down a side street on a large property and is very quiet. The manager is a very helpful guy. The rooms are in good condition.
Very sweet owners! Room was clean with a huge bathroom. The place is safe. Bed was very comfortable and I’m always very picky. They also have a sweet little family of cats
I spent two nights at this hotel over the last weekend. Overall I personally enjoyed my stay. The room was nice and as advertised, and I was right along the river. It had a bed, desk, mini fridge, as well as a full bathroom. As well as air-conditioning and wifi in my room. For me the price was worth it, although I am used to more expensive prices in America so this felt reasonable. You are also right next to a very nice restaurant that has good food for a good price and within a 5-15 minute walk of other bars and restaurants. The staff was extremely nice as well, and very caring and helpful. They offer toast and coffee in the morning complimentary.

Tips for Visiting Hotels & Resorts
Book Shoulder Season
May–June and September–October offer dramatic discounts (30–50% off peak rates) with fewer crowds. Weather is mixed but rarely a washout — afternoon showers clear quickly.
Compare OTAs and Direct Rates
Always check the hotel's own website after finding a rate on Agoda or Booking.com. Many Thai properties offer a best-rate guarantee or throw in perks like free breakfast when you book direct.
Pool Villa Doesn't Mean Expensive
Private pool villas in Krabi, Hua Hin, and Chiang Mai start around 2,500–4,000 THB/night — a fraction of Bali or Maldives prices. Search specifically for 'pool villa' to surface hidden gems.
