Compare prices
Nestled along the River Kwai in the lush surroundings of Sai Yok district, River Kwai Resotel offers a secluded resort experience where tropical greenery, mountain views, and riverside calm set the tone from arrival. The property features a mix of bungalows and deluxe rooms, all reported by guests to be spacious, well-equipped, and consistently clean, with notably strong hot water pressure — a genuine highlight for visitors accustomed to inconsistent plumbing in rural Thai resorts. An outdoor pool, open-air riverside dining, and a jungle-themed bar round out the facilities, making it easy to spend an entire stay without leaving the grounds. The resort's greatest asset is its atmosphere. Guests describe wandering the landscaped grounds to discover exotic plant species, listening to the river, and feeling genuinely immersed in the natural surroundings. The setting draws comparisons to a five-star experience despite the property's relaxed, low-key character, and staff are frequently praised for their warmth and attentiveness. Practically speaking, the resort operates daily from 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM and is best suited to travellers who want a self-contained retreat rather than easy access to local markets or restaurants. The location is remote, and some guests note it can be difficult to find when driving independently, so downloading an offline map or confirming directions with the resort before arrival is advisable. A rental car or resort-arranged transport is recommended for exploring the wider Kanchanaburi region.

Visitor Reviews
Amazing place, so quiet, clean and beautiful. Lovely staff, great food. The bed was SO big and comfy. The hottest water of any hotel EVER in Thailand! We loved it here. Not easy to find if driving and others told us that taxi's get lost too? Only saw 1 sign and GPS is a must! Also once you arrive at the entrance car park there is Nobody there? So we tried to drive in further, but finally found a worker that told us they watch you on the camera and send a motorcycle to pick you up haha, but how do you know this?? I would stay here again. When I give a review it's to help others and hopefully the resort also reads it and acts upon it. That's why it's called CC, Constructive criticism, Not "having a go" at the resort! Our room was close to the pool and the river and quite noisy late in the evening from the restaurant and people start walking and yelling just after 6am on their way down to the jetty, so there are quieter rooms further away.
Beautiful resort surrounded by lush greenery and exotic plants—you can explore and discover different species just by walking around the resort. The atmosphere is very peaceful and well maintained. The facilities are complete, and the staff are extremely friendly, proactive, and flexible, which made our stay truly enjoyable. What I loved most is how the resort respects and integrates Mon culture by hiring local people, supporting education, and offering Mon dance performances. It feels meaningful and authentic. The Royal Thai Massage was outstanding—so gentle yet deeply relaxing that we went for massages two days in a row. We definitely plan to come back again if we have the time. Highly recommended.
More like a 5*. Incredible place set among the jungle and mountain, along the river. We’ve had a perfect stay in room 510. Excellent size room and bathroom. Hot running water with great pressure. Comfy huge bed. Lounge seating area in the room. The food here was exemplary especially the breakfast, probably the best we’ve had in Thailand (have travelled here collectively more than 18 times) in terms of selection and quality. The grounds throughout are excellently maintained. The pools are clean. Towels are provided. Service was friendly and plentiful during our stay. We extended our stay because we didn’t want to leave. Thank you to the entire team here, keep up the great work.

Tips for Visiting Hotels & Resorts
Book Shoulder Season
May–June and September–October offer dramatic discounts (30–50% off peak rates) with fewer crowds. Weather is mixed but rarely a washout — afternoon showers clear quickly.
Compare OTAs and Direct Rates
Always check the hotel's own website after finding a rate on Agoda or Booking.com. Many Thai properties offer a best-rate guarantee or throw in perks like free breakfast when you book direct.
Pool Villa Doesn't Mean Expensive
Private pool villas in Krabi, Hua Hin, and Chiang Mai start around 2,500–4,000 THB/night — a fraction of Bali or Maldives prices. Search specifically for 'pool villa' to surface hidden gems.
