Skywalk Kanchanaburi City
Perched 12 metres above the ground along a 150-metre glass walkway on Songkwai Road, this modern riverside attraction offers one of the most distinctive vantage points in Kanchanaburi. The headline feature is a clear view of the confluence where the Khwae Yai and Khwae Noi rivers meet, framed by mountains and the city skyline — a perspective simply not possible from street level. Visitors are provided with soft shoe covers before stepping onto the glass panels, and a lift makes the structure accessible to most travellers. Entry costs 60 THB per person, making it one of the more affordable paid attractions in the region. The walkway operates on a capacity limit of around 150 people per batch, though visitors report that crowds are rarely an issue outside of peak periods. The elevated structure suits photography well, with the river, mountain backdrop, and city rooftops all within frame. It works naturally as a complement to other Kanchanaburi landmarks rather than a standalone full-day destination. The attraction is open every day from 08:00 to 19:00. Visiting in the final hour before closing is a practical strategy — crowds tend to thin out and the late afternoon light over the river makes for strong photographs. Given Kanchanaburi's tropical heat, earlier mornings are the cooler alternative. Comfortable footwear is fine since shoe covers are provided on arrival.

Visitor Reviews
We went one hour before closing and it was well worth the price of admission (60 baht per person)! There weren't too many people there, which made it easy to take wonderful pictures of the sunset. The 360° views of the city were lovely as well. Highly recommended!
Kanchanaburi Skywalk (Song Kwae Skywalk) The Kanchanaburi Skywalk is a relatively new and exciting landmark in the city, offering a modern way to experience the area's famous natural beauty and riverside life. • Glass Walkway: The most notable feature is the 150-meter-long walkway with a transparent glass floor. Standing 12 meters above the ground, it provides a thrilling, bird's-eye perspective of the rivers and the surrounding city, making for excellent photos. • The Two-Tone River View: The Skywalk is strategically built near the confluence (the meeting point) of the Khwae Yai River and the Khwae Noi River, which combine to form the Mae Klong River. From the Skywalk, visitors get a clear panoramic view of where these rivers—often with slightly different water colors—merge. • Panoramic Vistas: It offers a true 360-degree view, encompassing not only the rivers and the surrounding mountains but also nearby historical and cultural sites, such as riverside temples and the local community that lives on floating houses (rafts). • Atmosphere: The area is designed to be a vibrant public space. It’s particularly popular during the evening when the structure lights up, and when the adjacent Walking Street (night market) is open on Saturday nights, adding to the lively local atmosphere. Visitor Information • Location: The Skywalk is situated in the Mueang District, near the Kanchanaburi City Pillar Shrine. • Admission: There is a small fee (typically 60 THB) that covers the cost of special shoe coverings that must be worn to protect the glass floor.
Skywalk Kanchanaburi City is a modern viewpoint with a glass walkway (about 150 m long and 12 m high) overlooking the riverside. The main highlight is the confluence view where the Khwae Yai and Khwae Noi meet to form the Mae Klong River. It’s very photogenic and easy to combine with the nearby walking street/night market area, but it can feel crowded at peak times. Great for sunset photos and a short scenic stop in town.

Vet Elephant Sanctuaries
Only visit sanctuaries that prohibit riding, use no chains or bullhooks, and let elephants roam freely. Elephant Nature Park in Chiang Mai set the standard. If a place offers painting shows or circus tricks, walk away.
Book Through Klook or GetYourGuide
These platforms offer instant confirmation, free cancellation on most activities, and prices that are often lower than walk-up rates. Compare with local agencies for multi-day trips where negotiation might save more.
Do Outdoor Activities in the Morning
Heat and humidity peak from noon to 3 PM. Schedule jungle treks, cycling tours, and outdoor cooking classes for early morning. Water activities are more flexible since you're in and out of the sea.
