Compare prices
Makham Villa is a private accommodation property situated directly on Mae Nam Kwai Road in Kanchanaburi, offering guests unobstructed views of the River Kwai and the surrounding mountain landscape. The villa is well suited to group travel, with six rooms available for exclusive hire — a setup that has attracted families and larger parties looking for a cohesive, private retreat rather than a conventional hotel experience. The atmosphere is relaxed and unhurried, with a pool, riverside terrace, and BBQ facilities forming the social heart of the property. Guests consistently highlight the quality of the sunsets viewed from the terrace, the peaceful setting, and the attentiveness of the host, who has been noted for going beyond standard hospitality by assisting guests in planning local activities around Kanchanaburi. Dining options are flexible, with in-house BBQ a popular choice alongside local food delivery. For practical planning, the villa is best suited to those travelling in groups, as booking the entire property appears to be the most common and most rewarding arrangement. Guests planning special occasions or large gatherings should contact the owner directly in advance, as the host has demonstrated willingness to accommodate personalised requests. Given its riverside location and outdoor terrace, the property is particularly appealing during the cooler months between November and February, when evenings are comfortable for open-air dining.

Visitor Reviews
4.9 = booked the whole villa (6 rooms) for 3 nights. Extremely happy with the place, location, pool, room and service. Easy and convenient to dine in for bbq or grab delivery. Very enjoyable and we definitely visit again for sure! 0.1 point was deducted for breakfast. It might be better if we can have 3rd option for bread/eggs etc.
I booked the whole villa for Christmas Eve, for 20+ persons group. The owner been very nice and accommodating for personalized request, even goes beyond to help plan activities in town. Thanks a lot, K Add.
Lovely host. We had a great chilled stay with 2 families. A perfect spot to see the Kwai and the mountains with great sunsets, while having bbq on the terrace next to the river. Thanks for having us!

Tips for Visiting Hotels & Resorts
Book Shoulder Season
May–June and September–October offer dramatic discounts (30–50% off peak rates) with fewer crowds. Weather is mixed but rarely a washout — afternoon showers clear quickly.
Compare OTAs and Direct Rates
Always check the hotel's own website after finding a rate on Agoda or Booking.com. Many Thai properties offer a best-rate guarantee or throw in perks like free breakfast when you book direct.
Pool Villa Doesn't Mean Expensive
Private pool villas in Krabi, Hua Hin, and Chiang Mai start around 2,500–4,000 THB/night — a fraction of Bali or Maldives prices. Search specifically for 'pool villa' to surface hidden gems.
