Kanchanaburi Night Market
This evening market in Kanchanaburi town runs seven nights a week from 5 PM until 4 AM, drawing a predominantly local crowd alongside visiting travellers. Compared to larger tourist-oriented markets in the region, it leans heavily toward main course dishes rather than snacks and souvenirs, making it a reliable stop for a genuine, affordable Thai dinner rather than a browsing experience. Food is the clear focus here, with vendor stalls specialising in individual dishes — grilled meats, noodle dishes, and regional Thai staples among them. Travellers seeking halal options will find several dedicated stalls available. Prices are consistently budget-friendly, and the atmosphere is casual and unhurried, particularly in the earlier evening hours before the late-night crowd arrives. Good to know: visitors who primarily want craft shopping or a wide variety of international street food may find the selection limited, as the market skews toward local Thai cooking. Those happy to eat as the locals do will get more out of it. Arriving around 6 PM offers the best vendor selection without the later-night congestion. Comfortable footwear is practical, as the market is an open-air, walk-through setup.

Visitor Reviews
Went to both JJ & Kanchanaburi Night Market, and I preferred the latter. It offers more local Thai food, and the food is generally tastier and affordable.
Found a halal chicken rice spot here, the rice was super flavourful and came with soup. The chicken was crispy. Really good food and cheap too 👍
A lot of food to choose. For halal food it has 5-6 shops available

Haggle at Markets, Not Malls
Prices at market stalls are negotiable — start at 50–60% of the asking price and meet in the middle. Fixed-price shops and malls don't haggle. Smile and keep it friendly; aggressive bargaining is considered rude.
Arrive Early or Late
Vendors believe the first sale of the day is lucky — you'll often get a better deal if you arrive right when the market opens. Late in the evening, sellers may also discount to avoid packing unsold goods.
Be Cautious with Tailors
Bangkok has excellent tailors, but also many tourist traps. Avoid anyone offering suspiciously cheap suits or who approaches you on the street. Ask your hotel for recommendations, read reviews, and always get two fittings.
