The River Kwai Bridge Resort
Compare prices
Sitting directly on Maenamkwai Road in Kanchanaburi, this relaxed riverside resort places guests within easy walking distance of the historic Bridge on the River Kwai, making it a practical and comfortable base for exploring one of Thailand's most significant wartime landmarks. The property offers a choice of bungalows and standard rooms, with the bungalows noted by guests as well-equipped and spacious. A shaded, tree-lined setting gives the resort a calm, unhurried atmosphere that contrasts nicely with the historical weight of the surrounding area. Waterfront dining is one of the property's standout features, with guests praising both the setting and the breakfast spread, which offers a solid mix of local and Western options, kept fresh and regularly replenished. An outdoor pool is available on site, and the overall experience is consistently described by visitors as warm and welcoming, with staff noted for being helpful even during late-night arrivals. One practical note worth keeping in mind: weekend evenings can bring noise from party boats and music travelling across the river, a pattern common to riverside properties in the area. Guests sensitive to noise may prefer to book midweek or request rooms positioned away from the waterfront. The resort's reception hours run from 08:00 to 20:00 daily, so travellers planning late arrivals should contact the property in advance to arrange check-in. Booking through third-party platforms may also surface last-minute deals worth checking before reserving directly.

Visitor Reviews
Excellent hotel very close to the famous Bridge. I got great last-minute deals on Agoda. I stayed two nights in one of the bungalows and three nights in a room. The bungalows are well equipped and spacious, although they only have small windows which is a shame. Nonetheless, a nice little balcony to sit out on. I prefer the rooms because they have full width, patio type doors, so plenty of light and you can sit out on a wide balcony. Both were well equipped with good quality, bedding, towels etc. Also, the fittings in the bathroom and everywhere were excellent. I really like this hotel and have stayed here before and would certainly recommend it. The staff are very efficient, friendly and helpful. The hotel grounds run right down to the riverbank and you can sit next to the river and see the Bridge. It's a nice place for a cool evening beer. I was there during the big annual son et lumiere and saw the fireworks and all the other goings on.
We stayed one night at the River Kwai Bridge Resort and had a very positive experience. The staff were extremely nice and helpful, welcoming us warmly even though we arrived quite late at around 11pm. They even assisted in arranging a massage in our room at midnight, which was a wonderful surprise. The hotel itself was clean and well maintained. The room offered all the basic amenities and was spotless. The pool is on the smaller side, but still very nice and refreshing. A few thoughtful touches made the stay even better: in the lobby you can buy drinks, snacks, and ice cream at reasonable prices, and there is a 24-hour complimentary coffee and hot chocolate service. They also provide a laundry service at a fair cost with impressively fast turnaround (just 2 hours). Overall, it’s a comfortable and convenient place to stay with great service and excellent value.
I love the place of the hotel, it’s close to our visiting places and look so calming with many trees. Their breakfast is okay and the view of dining place is amazing. But one thing we don’t like is guests from our next door room are so noisy and rooms are not soundproof. Hopefully they can fix it and I’ll next time for sure.

Pool Villa Doesn't Mean Expensive
Private pool villas in Krabi, Hua Hin, and Chiang Mai start around 2,500–4,000 THB/night — a fraction of Bali or Maldives prices. Search specifically for 'pool villa' to surface hidden gems.
