SBG Cooking School
Located on Nanai Road in Patong, SBG Cooking School offers structured Thai cooking classes that go well beyond basic instruction. Classes are led by skilled local teachers — including the frequently praised Nana — who guide participants through authentic dishes such as Pad Thai, Green Curry, Tom Yum Goong, Mango Sticky Rice, and Chicken with Cashew Nuts. The school's Class 6 option, a popular four-hour session, begins with a visit to a local market before moving into hands-on cooking, giving participants context for the ingredients they use and the cuisine they are learning. The atmosphere is warm, interactive, and genuinely educational, with teachers focused on technique, flavour balance, and ingredient selection. Sessions are designed so that participants leave with skills transferable to their home kitchens, not just a meal eaten on the day. The school operates daily from 10:00 to 20:00, accommodating a wide range of travel schedules whether visitors prefer a morning session or an afternoon class. Good to know: SBG Cooking School offers classes of varying lengths, including shorter sessions for travellers with limited time. Booking in advance through the school's website or via WhatsApp is strongly recommended, as it allows visitors to confirm preferred class times, choose a suitable menu, and flag any dietary requirements before arrival.

I attended a 45-minute cooking class session today at SGB Cooking Class, Phuket, and it was a wonderful experience. I chose this class because of its excellent online ratings, and it truly lived up to the expectations. Chef Nana was an amazing instructor—very friendly, knowledgeable, and clear in her explanations. During the session, I learned how to cook Pad Thai and Thai Green Curry, and she guided us step by step, making the whole process easy and enjoyable even in a short time. The class was well organized, engaging, and perfect for anyone who wants a quick yet authentic introduction to Thai cooking. Highly recommended for tourists and food lovers visiting Phuket! Ps -Also she made me learn (quick to use ) thai words . Khob khun krap chef nana..
I took the 4-hour Class 6 at SBG Cooking School and it was one of the highlights of my trip! We started with a local market visit, then cooked Pad Thai, Green Curry with Chicken, Tom Yum Goong, and Mango Sticky Rice completely from scratch. Nana is such a kind, patient, and knowledgeable teacher — she really showed us how to balance Thai flavors the right way. The food came out so delicious! The whole team was friendly and welcoming. If you love Thai food, don’t miss this class. Highly recommend! ❤️🇹🇭🍜
This was the most fun cooking class I’ve ever taken! Nana (my teacher) is so amazing and she showed me not only how to cook amazing Thai dishes like chicken with cashew nuts, panaeng curry and green curry but also taught me how to speak basic Thai and Thai words commonly used in cooking and describing food. She’s very patient and detailed and I had a great time. I can definitely see myself making these myself. At the end she even took me to the market and showed me all the best brands and products to buy

Vet Elephant Sanctuaries
Only visit sanctuaries that prohibit riding, use no chains or bullhooks, and let elephants roam freely. Elephant Nature Park in Chiang Mai set the standard. If a place offers painting shows or circus tricks, walk away.
Book Through Klook or GetYourGuide
These platforms offer instant confirmation, free cancellation on most activities, and prices that are often lower than walk-up rates. Compare with local agencies for multi-day trips where negotiation might save more.
Do Outdoor Activities in the Morning
Heat and humidity peak from noon to 3 PM. Schedule jungle treks, cycling tours, and outdoor cooking classes for early morning. Water activities are more flexible since you're in and out of the sea.
