Amritsr Old Town
Tucked along Soi Rommanee in the heart of Phuket Old Town, this Indian restaurant has earned a strong following among tourists and locals alike for its authentic Punjabi cooking and genuinely attentive hospitality. The setting places it within easy walking distance of the area's heritage shophouses, making it a natural stop on any Old Town itinerary. The menu covers a solid range of vegetarian and non-vegetarian options, with standout dishes including aloo paratha, veg and non-veg thalis, paneer tikka wraps, kulchas, and samosas. The Punjabi lassi and mango lassi draw consistent praise. Portions are generous, and staff are noted for giving honest guidance on ordering rather than simply upselling. Wraps and parcelled items are a practical choice for visitors heading out on boat tours or day trips. Some reviewers have noted that seasoning can vary between visits, so it is worth communicating preferences when ordering. Good to know: The restaurant is open every day from 9am to midnight, offering flexibility across breakfast, lunch, dinner, and late-night sittings. The venue tends to fill up around 8pm, so arriving slightly earlier in the evening or during the mid-afternoon quieter period is a sensible way to avoid a wait. Additional menu information may be available at amritsr.com ahead of a visit.

Excellent service by Maung Zinoo and one of the best aloo parothas and Punjabi lassi we have had… We ordered 2 lassis but were advised that 1 would be enough for 2, and he was correct. Asked for slightly salted lassi and he brought us a small sample each to taste and see if it was salty enough…. Did not expect that!!! We came early at 11am and were served really quickly as there were only 2 other customers . Enjoyed the Punjabi music too… Will definitely revisit 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
The food here is absolutely delicious. We had food on multiple occasions and loved below 1. Veg Thali 2. Non veg Thali 3. Paneer Tikka wrap (Parcel for boat tours) 4. Samosa 5. Kulchas ❤️ Delivery from Grab is super quick as well roughly 45 mins We did not like the Wada Paw and Chicken Biryani although they were very good quality
Having traveled to many countries, I can honestly say the Indian food and overall vibe at this restaurant are unmatched. The quality is excellent, the prices are pocket-friendly, and the hospitality is warm and humble. It’s definitely one of the main reasons I would visit Phuket again.

Tips for Visiting Restaurants & Food
Learn the Spice Scale
Say 'mai pet' for no spice, 'pet nit noi' for a little spice, or 'pet mak' if you want it Thai-hot. Most cooks will default to a toned-down version for foreigners unless you specify otherwise.
Follow the Crowds
The busiest street stalls are almost always the best — high turnover means fresh ingredients and a recipe that locals vouch for. An empty restaurant at dinner time is a red flag.
Ice Is Safe
Factory-made tube or cylinder ice (used in virtually all restaurants and stalls) is made from purified water and is safe to consume. You don't need to skip the iced Thai tea.
