WHY NOT Restaurant Phuket @ Jungceylon
Tucked inside Jungceylon Mall in Patong, WHY NOT Restaurant draws repeat visitors with its relaxed vibe, approachable menu, and genuinely warm staff. The combination of Thai classics like Pad Thai alongside Western options such as wagyu beef burgers and chicken gyoza makes it a practical choice for groups or couples with different tastes. The interior is described by visitors as cute and aesthetic, and the team has a reputation for going the extra mile — including singing birthday songs and personalising desserts for celebrations. Diners can expect attentive, friendly service and reasonably priced food that punches above its mall-dining expectations. The menu covers enough ground to satisfy both those craving familiar comfort food and travellers keen to try Thai dishes without venturing far from Patong's main shopping strip. Portions and freshness have been consistently noted as highlights across visitor reviews. Good to know: the restaurant is open every day from 10:00 AM to 11:00 PM, making it convenient for late lunches or early dinners after a day at the beach. The mall setting means air-conditioned comfort, easy parking, and no dress code concerns. If you are visiting during peak Patong evenings, arriving before 7:00 PM should help you avoid longer waits. Check their Facebook page for any updates before your visit.

Visitor Reviews
Food was really good and staff was so friendly and sweet. They played birthday song, sang and wished me and wrote it on my dessert. Very cute and aesthetic inside with reasonable price🥰They even gave us a discount🥂
This restaurant has great food variety on a good price. We had chicken Pad Thai, Cheese croquettes and Tomato Soup. All of the ordered was great in taste! :) The service is quite fast and you feel very welcomed. :)
Ate here twice and the food was lovely! Great options for both Thai and Western food. Service is very good, the waiters are very attentive and friendly. The food is delicious.

Learn the Spice Scale
Say 'mai pet' for no spice, 'pet nit noi' for a little spice, or 'pet mak' if you want it Thai-hot. Most cooks will default to a toned-down version for foreigners unless you specify otherwise.
Follow the Crowds
The busiest street stalls are almost always the best — high turnover means fresh ingredients and a recipe that locals vouch for. An empty restaurant at dinner time is a red flag.
Ice Is Safe
Factory-made tube or cylinder ice (used in virtually all restaurants and stalls) is made from purified water and is safe to consume. You don't need to skip the iced Thai tea.
