Kanchanaburi Bylocals
Kanchanaburi Bylocals is a tour and transportation service operating out of Kanchanaburi that specialises in tailored, small-group experiences led by guides with deep local knowledge of the region. Rather than following a standard tourist script, the team — including guides known to clients as Days, Dai, and Mr. A — builds individual itineraries that take in both well-known sites and lesser-visited highlights across the area. Visitors can expect private or small-group transport in comfortable vehicles, with guides handling logistics, timing, and insider recommendations throughout the day. Past clients have been taken to destinations including Erawan Falls, local elephant sanctuaries, and riverside piers connecting to floating accommodation on the Kwai River. The service is well suited to families, with at least one reviewer noting a smooth, enjoyable experience with children. The consistent thread across visitor accounts is attentive, personalised service that adapts to the group rather than the other way around. Operating hours run from 08:00 most days of the week, with slightly later closing on Saturdays and an earlier finish on Sundays, so it is worth confirming availability and booking in advance, particularly during peak travel periods. Enquiries and bookings can be made through their Facebook page. Those planning multi-day itineraries that combine sightseeing with river stays or regional travel will find this operator a practical and well-regarded starting point.

Visitor Reviews
We recently had 3 nights/4 days in Kanchanaburi as suggested by Days. What an experience! This was our third time in Thailand but we can honestly say that Kanchanaburi is the most beautiful place we have visited. We gave Days complete control of our time and it was amazing. We did most of the tourist hotspots during our time there but it was the unexpected places we visited which made the trip so special. Superb restaurants, cracking coffee shops and even a visit to a small temple in the city centre where we lit a candle and then placed gold leaf onto a shrine. This felt an honour and a privilege. We even got to meet his lovely family on the walk into the city from our hotel. From start to finish Days made us feel special and we thoroughly enjoyed his company. We hope to return in the future. If you're thinking of visiting Kanchanaburi, drop Kanchanaburi Tours by Locals a message and get on board with them. You won't be disappointed!
A huge thank you to Dai and Mr. A. They made our time in Kanchanaburi and unforgettable experience. From visits to Erawan Falls to elephant sanctuary and many other unknown highlights, we had such a great time. We got collected from Bangkok and taken to Kanchanaburi and visited some hidden gems along the way. Departing they got us to our next destination in Hua Hin and even took us back to Bangkok again. Each leg of the journey was perfect and professional. Put your trust in these guys. They offer a great service and you will undoubtedly get the most out of your holiday if you do. Special mention to Mr. A. Such a lovely guy. So friendly and accommodating. As a family of four we had a great adventure in Thailand. Put your trust in these guys they won't let you down.
We, a family of four with two children aged 12 and 9, had two fantastic days with Mr. Days. We were driven around in a comfortable SUV, and Mr. Days knows all the best spots during the tours. A true local who knows where to go and where to eat. He also had a lovely surprise for us and the children. We recommend booking well in advance to secure a spot. We weren't sure what we wanted or could do, so based on their advice and suggestions, we booked a two-day tour, but customized options are also available. Don't forget to have them arrange your transportation to and from Kanchanaburi in addition to your tour. After the tour, Mr. Aey drove us to Khao Yai and we had a fantastic ride.

Tips for Visiting Activities & Tours
Vet Elephant Sanctuaries
Only visit sanctuaries that prohibit riding, use no chains or bullhooks, and let elephants roam freely. Elephant Nature Park in Chiang Mai set the standard. If a place offers painting shows or circus tricks, walk away.
Book Through Klook or GetYourGuide
These platforms offer instant confirmation, free cancellation on most activities, and prices that are often lower than walk-up rates. Compare with local agencies for multi-day trips where negotiation might save more.
Do Outdoor Activities in the Morning
Heat and humidity peak from noon to 3 PM. Schedule jungle treks, cycling tours, and outdoor cooking classes for early morning. Water activities are more flexible since you're in and out of the sea.
