Sarika Waterfall

4.3(4,459 reviews)

Sarika Waterfall is a nine-tiered cascade located in Nakhon Nayok Province, offering a popular natural escape from Bangkok within a two-hour drive. Each tier forms its own natural pool at a different depth and flow intensity, giving visitors the option to swim, wade, or simply sit beside the water surrounded by dense tropical forest. The higher tiers reward those willing to climb with quieter pools and better views of the surrounding hillsides. The atmosphere is lively and casual rather than secluded, drawing a strong mix of Thai families and international visitors, particularly on weekends and public holidays when crowds are significant. Swimming and picnicking are the main draws, with shaded spots available between tiers. Visitors should be aware that litter can be visible in areas around the main path, so those expecting a pristine wilderness setting may find the reality more mixed. The waterfall itself remains the clear highlight regardless of conditions. Visiting on a weekday or arriving early is strongly recommended to avoid crowds and parking difficulties. Water levels are highest during the rainy season from May to October, when the falls are most dramatic but trails become slippery underfoot. The dry season from November to February brings calmer conditions and clearer water. Water shoes or grippy sandals are advised, and bringing a change of clothes is practical. There is no booking system in place, so entry is entirely first-come, first-served.

Visitor Reviews

Beautiful waterfall surrounded by lush greenery 🌿 We visited Sarika Waterfall on a Sunday, and it was quite crowded, lots of people coming to enjoy the weekend. Despite that, the waterfall itself is very beautiful and powerful, especially after heavy rain the day before. Because of the strong current, the staff didn’t allow visitors to swim in many sections, which is understandable for safety reasons. The scenery is absolutely worth the trip, surrounded by dense forest and fresh mountain air. There’s even a hotel located right in front of the waterfall, so you can stay overnight and wake up to the sound of rushing water and birds. A lovely natural spot for a short getaway, especially if you love nature and don’t mind a bit of a crowd on weekends. 🌧️💧

Sarika Waterfall is a nine-tiered waterfall cascading down the cliff to a forested hillside. Each tiere has a large natural pool offering a perfect spot for swimming or just sit and relaxing in the cool water. The terrain and the concrete staircase to the foot of the falls may be quite challenging to the handicapped and elderly. There is no handrail for the staircase. Restaurants, café, hotels and resorts, as well as free public parking and paid parking on premises are available nearby. Entrance fee: Adults 40 baht and children 20 baht for Thais. Adults 200 baht and children 100 baht for foreigners. Thai Senior Citizens are free.

The water fall was beautiful and Al so the view. But DO NOT and I mean DO NOT eat at the small take out restaurant near the entrance because it’s really dirty and especially the Schweppes. But except that, the water fall is great but there’s a lot of stairs to climb and on top of that is a close up of the water fall and there’s a small pond under it that you can swim in and you don’t need a life jacket 👍

Tips for Visiting Activities & Tours

Vet Elephant Sanctuaries

Only visit sanctuaries that prohibit riding, use no chains or bullhooks, and let elephants roam freely. Elephant Nature Park in Chiang Mai set the standard. If a place offers painting shows or circus tricks, walk away.

Book Through Klook or GetYourGuide

These platforms offer instant confirmation, free cancellation on most activities, and prices that are often lower than walk-up rates. Compare with local agencies for multi-day trips where negotiation might save more.

Do Outdoor Activities in the Morning

Heat and humidity peak from noon to 3 PM. Schedule jungle treks, cycling tours, and outdoor cooking classes for early morning. Water activities are more flexible since you're in and out of the sea.
