PhoThai Traditional Thai Massage Samui
Tucked into the Bo Put area of Koh Samui, this massage studio has built a strong reputation for delivering genuinely therapeutic results rather than a purely relaxing, tourist-oriented experience. Visitor accounts highlight meaningful relief from chronic conditions including persistent lower back and upper back pain, with several guests crediting specific therapists — particularly one named TIG — for skilled, targeted work that goes beyond a standard massage session. The studio also offers nail services, though recent feedback suggests this is not where the establishment excels. The atmosphere is calm and focused, with practitioners praised for their precision, delicacy, and evident training. Traditional Thai massage here follows the classical approach: rhythmic pressure, stretching, and work along the body's energy lines, performed fully clothed. Guests describe the experience in terms of genuine physical relief rather than simple pampering, which sets it apart from many tourist-facing spas on the island. Good to know: Opening hours and online booking information are not readily available, so it is worth contacting the studio directly or asking your accommodation for current details before making the trip. Wear loose, comfortable clothing to your appointment, as treatments are performed clothed. If therapeutic massage rather than nail services is the priority, that appears to be where this studio consistently delivers.

Visitor Reviews
I can’t even put into words how incredible of a massage I had here. “Massage” is really not the right word, this was healing medicine. I struggle with chronic pain in both my upper and lower back that in the United States I go to physical therapy for as well as weekly massages. In two sessions here Aut (the owner’s son) was able to release some very deep pain in both areas that no one at home has come close to doing. For the price it is really unbelievable. I would fly 30 hours and come back to Koh Samui just for this. PS there are a lot of massage places on this street. This one is not fancy and cash only but please believe me when I say this is the real deal. All the reviews are legit (vs many other shops with good reviews ask for them and provide a discount in return). I saw many locals in here vs. tourists. Seriously don’t think twice! Plus they are very communicative on whats app and booking was very easy.
I had an incredible experience with TIG at PhoThai Traditional Thai Massage Samui! She is an absolute master at her craft. I came in with persistent lower back pain, and over just two sessions, TIG targeted the problem areas with such precision and skill that most of my pain was relieved. It was, without a doubt, the best remedial massage I’ve ever had! Her expertise, combined with a calming and professional approach, made all the difference. If you’re in Samui and need a therapeutic massage, TIG at PhoThai is the one to see! Highly recommend!
Best massage parlor in chaweng! The massage ladies are delicate, efficient and precise, we can definitely sense they had very good training and put you in great condition. The massage menu is interesting and proposes reflexology and also help treat pains. The service is great, the reception lady is very helpful and guides you properly. If it’s beeing hard to choose a massage in chaweng then dont hesitate to select this one!
Tips for Visiting Wellness & Spas
Learn Wat Pho First
Wat Pho in Bangkok is the birthplace of traditional Thai massage education. Their on-site massage pavilion offers excellent treatments from students and graduates at reasonable prices — and you know the technique is authentic.
Communicate Pressure Preferences
Thai massage can be intense. Say 'bao bao' for lighter pressure or 'nак nак' for harder. A good therapist will check in, but don't hesitate to speak up — suffering in silence defeats the purpose.
Book Longer Sessions
A 60-minute massage is fine, but 90 or 120 minutes allows the therapist to work thoroughly. The price difference is often only 200–400 THB for an extra hour — worth it for a deeper, more relaxing experience.
