BanOra restaurant
Tucked along Chaweng Beach Road in Koh Samui, BanOra is a French-owned restaurant that blends European and traditional Thai cuisine in a setting that consistently draws attention for its beauty. The open kitchen adds a sense of theatre to the dining experience, and the carefully developed menu spans fresh seafood, French-inspired dishes, and steaks — all of which have drawn strong praise from visitors for their quality and presentation. The atmosphere is a clear highlight, with a design that feels considered and inviting. Diners have highlighted the snapper as a standout dish, while the steaks arriving at neighbouring tables have been enough to tempt return visits. The owner is noted as charming and present, contributing to a welcoming feel that appeals to both tourists and locals alike. It is particularly well suited to those looking for a taste of European cooking while travelling in Thailand. Service consistency appears to vary, with some visitors noting gaps in attentiveness between diners at the same table, so those with a relaxed approach to dining pace are likely to enjoy the experience most. As opening hours are not publicly listed, it is worth contacting the restaurant directly or visiting in person to confirm current availability before planning a trip.

I visites this place because I liked how wonderfull it looks. I ended up being amazed be the great taste and structure of the food (I took the snapper). The staff were also really nice to us and gave great service. Will visit it again in a few days.
Went there for the first time on new year have been back twice since then. Beautiful restaurant, amazing food and charming owner. Good for tourists and locals. When you need a taste of home and French cuisine or seafood it is the perfect place.
Tips for Visiting Restaurants & Food
Learn the Spice Scale
Say 'mai pet' for no spice, 'pet nit noi' for a little spice, or 'pet mak' if you want it Thai-hot. Most cooks will default to a toned-down version for foreigners unless you specify otherwise.
Follow the Crowds
The busiest street stalls are almost always the best — high turnover means fresh ingredients and a recipe that locals vouch for. An empty restaurant at dinner time is a red flag.
Ice Is Safe
Factory-made tube or cylinder ice (used in virtually all restaurants and stalls) is made from purified water and is safe to consume. You don't need to skip the iced Thai tea.
