The Jungle Club

4.3(6,863 reviews)$$$$

The view does most of the work here, and it earns it. Open-air decks are built into the hillside above Bo Put, looking out over the coast, and sunset is when everyone wants a table. That's the problem with sunset: reviewers describe long queues and waits of up to an hour. Turn up a couple of hours early, or book. A seat isn't guaranteed just because you made it up the hill.

The food holds its own rather than riding on the scenery. Thai dishes dominate the menu, which isn't enormous but covers the classics well. Pad Thai, tom yum goong and spring rolls come up again and again, and the mango sticky rice with coconut gets more praise than anything else on the list. One couple reported paying 1,500 baht for a full meal with dessert. Fair for where you're sitting. There's lodging too, so you can stay rather than just eat and leave.

Reviews from Google

The food was absolutely delicious. We chose Pad Thai and Tom Yum Goong soup – both were excellent. The spring rolls were also very good. The way up was a bit steep, but we managed it easily on the scooter with two people. For dessert, we had mango sticky rice, which was amazing. In total, we paid 1,500 baht. Overall, it is quite a touristy place, but I would definitely come back just for the food. It’s really highly recommended. In the evening, the view is absolutely stunning.

We visited the restaurant and had a great experience and a fantastic view! Important to know: Get picked up at the pick-up point and don't even try to ride your scooter up there! The trip up and back costs 50 ฿ per person. More than fair. The menu offers a good selection, but is not overly extensive, and we really enjoyed the food. The salad in particular was very fresh and delicious.

First off the view and design of the restaurant is stunning, I will give them that. Though there could be some better safety measures. Some of the lower decks have no railings and won’t stop a kid or adult from falling over directly onto another table. Second I came here with my family and was told there was up to an hour wait - which is fine if the restaurant is full. Once we got seated we noticed half the restaurant tables were empty. Maybe they were being held for reservations but none of them got filled the entire time we were there. Also we came as a family with our young daughter and my two parents and it was very obvious the younger folks were being prioritized over us. We were seated in a corner and ignored until we had to wave a waiter down to take our drink and food orders. Meanwhile the younger folks who came with vlogging cameras and were filming to make Instagram content were getting too notch seating and service. The food was great and the atmosphere of the restaurant was world class but it seems like if you’re not there to provide something for the business you will get the cold shoulder. Also we saw the man taking the waitlist tell a guest that if she paid 10,000 baht she could get in for sunset. I couldn’t tell if it was a joke but after seeing all the empty tables I wouldn’t be surprised if that is their way of making extra money instead of actually seating people. If you want a great view I recommend going here but if you want a great experience and food I highly recommend checking out some of the other amazing restaurants scattered over the island.

Tips for Visiting Activities & Tours

Vet Elephant Sanctuaries

Only visit sanctuaries that prohibit riding, use no chains or bullhooks, and let elephants roam freely. Elephant Nature Park in Chiang Mai set the standard. If a place offers painting shows or circus tricks, walk away.

Book Popular Activities Online

Booking platforms like GetYourGuide give you instant confirmation and, on many activities, free cancellation — and you can read recent reviews before committing. Compare with local agencies for multi-day trips where negotiation might save more.

Do Outdoor Activities in the Morning

Heat and humidity peak from noon to 3 PM. Schedule jungle treks, cycling tours, and outdoor cooking classes for early morning. Water activities are more flexible since you're in and out of the sea.
