Ali Baba Restaurant, Thai Food, Indian food, Vegetarian & Vegan Food, Halal food
Tucked into the busy strip of Ao Nang, this well-regarded restaurant brings together Thai and Indian cuisines under one roof, making it a practical and satisfying choice for groups with varied tastes or dietary requirements. Halal-certified throughout, it caters equally well to Muslim travellers, vegetarians, and vegans, with dedicated menu options across all categories. The range is broader than most — spanning aromatic Indian curries, tandoori dishes, biryanis, Thai staples, and even tandoori pizza, a house specialty that draws repeat visitors. The atmosphere is casual and welcoming, with attentive staff noted consistently across visitor reviews. Standout dishes include the chicken jalfrezi, lamb karahi, mutton biryani, and tandoori tikka, while the butter chicken and virgin cocktails also earn regular mentions. The kitchen handles both cuisines with evident confidence, and the mid-range pricing makes it accessible for most budgets without sacrificing quality. Good to know: The restaurant is open every day from 11am to 11pm, covering lunch through to late-night dining. Ao Nang is a busy tourist hub, so arriving in the mid-afternoon between the main lunch and dinner rushes generally means a more relaxed experience. Those with specific dietary requirements will find the menu accommodating, though discussing needs with staff during quieter periods makes for a smoother visit.

Visitor Reviews
We’ve been to Ali Baba three times now and it never disappoints. The tandoori pizza was amazing, and the chicken jalfrezi was full of flavor. The lamb and chicken karahi were also very good and cooked perfectly. If you’re craving Indian or Pakistani food, this place is definitely worth a visit. The owner was very friendly and came over to check that everything was okay, which we really appreciated. Suraj, our waiter, was amazing and provided great service. Highly recommend Ali Baba — we’ll definitely be back again!
Alibaba Restaurant is hands down the best in Krabi when it comes to quality, price, and taste. After many disappointing meals elsewhere, we finally decided to stick with this place—and ended up coming here every single day. The food is consistently amazing, with plenty of great vegetarian options. The chickpeas salad in particular is outstanding. Highly recommended!
I only knew about it from Instagram, someone listed it as one of the best restaurants in the Ao Nang area. And I was craving a good Biryani. So I tried it out and they didn't not disappoint at all. It was really really good. I was on my own .. so I couldn't try out anything else. But all the food that was served around me looked great.

Tips for Visiting Restaurants & Food
Learn the Spice Scale
Say 'mai pet' for no spice, 'pet nit noi' for a little spice, or 'pet mak' if you want it Thai-hot. Most cooks will default to a toned-down version for foreigners unless you specify otherwise.
Follow the Crowds
The busiest street stalls are almost always the best — high turnover means fresh ingredients and a recipe that locals vouch for. An empty restaurant at dinner time is a red flag.
Ice Is Safe
Factory-made tube or cylinder ice (used in virtually all restaurants and stalls) is made from purified water and is safe to consume. You don't need to skip the iced Thai tea.
