The Last Bar
Sitting directly on Railay West Beach, this casual bar and grill earns its reputation as a reliable spot for budget-friendly food and drinks with uninterrupted sea views. Despite its no-frills setup, the kitchen consistently surprises visitors with quality Thai food — several regulars return for multiple meals during a single stay, and the smoothies and cold beers make it an easy place to settle in for the afternoon. The atmosphere leans relaxed and unhurried, which suits Railay's pace well. It draws a mix of backpackers, beach-goers, and travellers looking for a laid-back meal without the polish or price tag of more tourist-facing spots. The western end of the beach tends to be quieter, and the bar genuinely comes into its own in the evenings once the day-trip crowds have cleared out — the setting becomes noticeably more peaceful after dark. Note that some reviews mention Muay Thai shows as part of the evening entertainment, making it worth checking what's on during your visit. Good to know: The bar opens daily from 9am to 10pm, so it works as a lunch stop, afternoon hangout, or evening wind-down equally well. Railay is only accessible by longtail boat from Ao Nang, so factor in boat timing when planning a late visit. Dress code is beach casual — there are no expectations otherwise.

Visitor Reviews
Great place for no frills, cheap & good eats, smoothies, & beer, nice staff, & a good view. We ate here lunch & dinner for 3 of our 5 days in Railay East. Would have ate there all 5 days if they weren’t closed for a much needed break. We had spring rolls, pad Thai, drunken noodles, cashew chicken & pizza. All were good. Sad we didn’t get to try more. Their English is iffy, so you won’t get into a deep conversation, but nice people nonetheless.
What an amazing find on the opposite end of the island for us! We loved eating right on the water. So relaxing and peaceful, especially when all the tourists have gone home for the night. Absolutely need to eat here if you are staying over on the island. Super friendly aunties running the show. The lights actually went out on us for a few minutes but they had it up and running again in no time. Made for a memorable experience!
We didn’t know what we’d find on the other side of the island, but this place has such a great view and I thought it was better than all of the other restaurants on the island from a quality perspective. The man serving the tables is also great at making sure you’re taken care of.

Carry Your Passport or a Copy
Clubs and some bars check IDs strictly, especially in Bangkok's Thonglor, RCA, and Sukhumvit areas. A photo of your passport info page on your phone usually works, but carrying a laminated photocopy is safer.
Know the Closing Times
Legal closing time is 2 AM for most venues, though enforcement varies. In Bangkok's designated entertainment zones (RCA, Silom Soi 2/4, Khao San), some clubs stay open until 4 AM. Islands tend to be more relaxed about hours.
Buy Bucket Drinks Cautiously
Island bucket drinks (mixed spirits in a small bucket) are cheap and fun but notoriously strong and inconsistent. Stick to one, stay hydrated, and never leave your drink unattended at beach parties.
