Samadee Yoga & Retreat Aonang Krabi
Tucked within the Phranangplace Hotel in Ao Nang, this yoga studio and wellness retreat offers a genuinely personal experience in one of Krabi's most visited coastal areas. What sets it apart is the combination of beachside yoga sessions, spa treatments, and immersive mini retreat packages that weave together movement, breathwork, and massage into a single visit. Classes are taught with care and adaptability — instructors adjust sessions to suit individual levels, making it equally welcoming for complete beginners and those with an established practice. Beyond yoga, the retreat hosts sound bath experiences in a thoughtfully decorated space, adding another dimension to its wellness offering. Visitors can expect a calm, unhurried atmosphere with a notably personal touch. Sessions are sometimes conducted one-on-one, and instructors are consistently described as knowledgeable, kind, and attentive. Sunrise beach yoga is a particular draw, combining the natural setting of Ao Nang with guided movement at the start of the day. The on-site spa component means guests can move seamlessly from a yoga class into a head treatment or full massage without leaving the property. Good to know: specific class times and availability are not listed online, so contacting the retreat or the Phranangplace Hotel directly before your visit is strongly recommended, especially if you want to secure a particular session or mini retreat package. Ao Nang's dry season runs from November to April, when conditions are most suitable for outdoor beach yoga.

Visitor Reviews
Sunrise yoga on the beach – perfect for beginners! I took the sunrise yoga class on the beach and had a wonderful experience. The location was easy to find—a nice, clean, peaceful spot right on the sand. The instructor (I believe her name was Thani—apologies if I'm misspelling it!) was absolutely lovely. She was gentle and patient, which I really appreciated as a beginner. At the same time, she offered helpful corrections when needed and gently encouraged me to go deeper into poses. She was friendly, welcoming, and her English was excellent (which may be helpful for some travelers, though not essential to me). I highly recommend Samadee Yoga and will definitely return—both later this trip and on future visits to Krabi.
I recently attended a wonderful sound bath experience, led by the lovely teacher, Punch. Tanny the owner was also there to welcome me to the beautifully decorated space and to take part as well. Both teachers show an experience and genuine appreciation of yoga - not only on the mat - but also as a transformative practice off the mat. I can not recommend their offerings highly enough - thank you ❤️ for such a memorable and beautiful practice.
I had a mini retreat here and it was amazing! The yoga class turned out to be a one on one class and I felt supported and guided through it. It continued with a head spa and massage putting me at ease and relaxed and was completed by a sound bath and meditation session which wrapped up the relaxing and soothing experience. Staff are very kind and make you feel at home.
Tips for Visiting Wellness & Spas
Learn Wat Pho First
Wat Pho in Bangkok is the birthplace of traditional Thai massage education. Their on-site massage pavilion offers excellent treatments from students and graduates at reasonable prices — and you know the technique is authentic.
Communicate Pressure Preferences
Thai massage can be intense. Say 'bao bao' for lighter pressure or 'nак nак' for harder. A good therapist will check in, but don't hesitate to speak up — suffering in silence defeats the purpose.
Book Longer Sessions
A 60-minute massage is fine, but 90 or 120 minutes allows the therapist to work thoroughly. The price difference is often only 200–400 THB for an extra hour — worth it for a deeper, more relaxing experience.
