113 Steak
Tucked opposite the JJ Night Market in central Kanchanaburi, 113 Steak operates as a chef's table style restaurant where the kitchen takes centre stage. The format is intimate and personal — the chef selects and prepares each course with visible care, creating an experience that goes well beyond a standard steakhouse dinner. The space is small and cosy, and the atmosphere transforms notably after dark, rewarding guests who arrive in the evening as intended. The menu centres on quality beef cuts, with reviewers highlighting dishes such as rib-eye, picanha, and smoked beef short ribs prepared to order. Beyond steak, the kitchen also produces dishes like Neapolitan pizza with Iberian ham, suggesting a broader repertoire than the name implies. The chef's attentiveness to each guest and the precision of the cooking are consistent themes across visitor accounts, making the dining experience feel more like a private meal than a restaurant visit. Good to know: 113 Steak opens exclusively for dinner, every day of the week from 5:00 PM to 11:00 PM. Given the small size of the venue and the chef's table format, seating capacity is limited — arriving early in the evening is advisable, and checking ahead for availability before visiting is strongly recommended, particularly on weekends.

Visitor Reviews
Come back for 2nd time, still impressed with the food and service. Chef table style. Small & cozy place. Chef was so friendly and carefully prepared the course for us. This time we had Smoked Beef Short Ribs and Tajimaguro Wagyu Rump Steak. 🥩 As for starter, we had nice sourdough. Ribs were so tender and juicy. This one is carefully cooked for 10 hrs. It came with BBQ sauce, kizami wasabi and pickle. (Chef choice of side dish and starter) We really enjoyed it. Rump steak can be chewy, but chef cooked it just right and it’s still tender. Smell really good after torching. Very delicious steak. He said that this part is really rare. We are so lucky 🍀 This restaurant also offers various choices of wine. As beginners, chef suggested white muscat wine for us, absolutely loving it. If you visit Kanchanaburi and want to enjoy great steak, please make a reservation one day in advance. Highly recommended!
A must do if you are in the area and love good high quality food in a unique setting - the steaks were just cooked to perfection and tasted amazingly - the best steaks we have ever had and we have eaten in many places (Michelin star) and all around the world. Sitting at the chefs table with two lovely people who have a passion for food and making you feel welcome - explaining each cut of meat with love and respect for the produce. The pizza - wow words are not enough to explain, the crust on the dough made by hand again with love - and the tastes! Every mouthful an explosion of flavour - we have had pizza all over Italy and we would say the pizza here hand made is better than the pizza we had in Naples - if you come to this town it should be for two reasons - to see the bridge over the river Kwai and to visit 113 Steak
More than a meal, it’s a masterclass in heart and hospitality. From the outside, 113 Steak might look like a humble, unassuming spot, but the moment you step inside at night, it transforms into something truly magical. This isn't just a place to eat; it’s a place where you are treated like an old friend by a host who truly lives and breathes his craft. Khun Yut (the heart of the house) doesn't just serve you a steak; he shares a story. His knowledge of cuts is staggering, and his passion is contagious. We had the Ribeye and the Sirloin, and they were, without exaggeration, some of the best steaks we’ve ever tasted, perfectly prepared, deeply flavorful, and clearly sourced with immense care.

Learn the Spice Scale
Say 'mai pet' for no spice, 'pet nit noi' for a little spice, or 'pet mak' if you want it Thai-hot. Most cooks will default to a toned-down version for foreigners unless you specify otherwise.
Follow the Crowds
The busiest street stalls are almost always the best — high turnover means fresh ingredients and a recipe that locals vouch for. An empty restaurant at dinner time is a red flag.
Ice Is Safe
Factory-made tube or cylinder ice (used in virtually all restaurants and stalls) is made from purified water and is safe to consume. You don't need to skip the iced Thai tea.
