The Good View Bar & Restaurant
Perched on the banks of the Ping River, this long-running Thai restaurant and bar has built a loyal following among both locals and visitors for its combination of riverside atmosphere, live music, and a wide-ranging menu. The setting comes into its own after dark, when the view across the water adds genuine character to the evening, and the energy inside picks up considerably as the night progresses. The menu is extensive, with multiple food menus alongside a dedicated drinks list — well suited to groups with varied tastes. Thai dishes are the main draw and are generally well-regarded, with food arriving quickly even during busy periods. Expect a lively, crowded environment most evenings, with live music adding to the high-energy atmosphere. The mid-range pricing reflects the location and experience as much as the food itself. The restaurant opens at 5pm every night and stays open until 1am, making it a practical choice for both early dinners and later evenings out. Walk-ins can usually be accommodated, though arriving early is sensible on weekends. Paid parking is available directly opposite the venue for around 50 baht, which is useful for those arriving by car or scooter. For specific requests, having a translation app on hand can help avoid any miscommunication with staff.

Visitor Reviews
Lovely restaurant with great ambience. The live music was incredible and the energy was palpable. Various fun spot if you’re looking for a high energy fun place to hang with friends or family. The menu has a nice mix of traditional Thai food and western food and surprise, also sushi. I would say the food was pretty good just not exceptional, but I would definitely go back because the music and energy was really nice in the spot.
When we visited was very busy but we got a table without reservation. Food was good service was good. It is slightly on the pricey side but you are right on the river so nice atmosphere. They had live music all in all good experience.
Food was 9/10, stir fried cabbage was a little salty but otherwise alright. The view was definitely great. And if you’re driving, there is a parking space right opposite for 50baht.

Tips for Visiting Restaurants & Food
Learn the Spice Scale
Say 'mai pet' for no spice, 'pet nit noi' for a little spice, or 'pet mak' if you want it Thai-hot. Most cooks will default to a toned-down version for foreigners unless you specify otherwise.
Follow the Crowds
The busiest street stalls are almost always the best — high turnover means fresh ingredients and a recipe that locals vouch for. An empty restaurant at dinner time is a red flag.
Ice Is Safe
Factory-made tube or cylinder ice (used in virtually all restaurants and stalls) is made from purified water and is safe to consume. You don't need to skip the iced Thai tea.
