Elephant Parade House
Elephant Parade House is a colourful open-air exhibition space and retail destination in central Chiang Mai, dedicated to showcasing intricately painted elephant sculptures designed by international artists. Each piece is unique, blending vivid artistic styles with elephant motifs that range from whimsical to refined, making the collection a genuine draw for art lovers and curious travellers alike. A portion of proceeds supports elephant conservation projects, giving purchases a charitable dimension that many visitors find adds meaning to the experience. Beyond browsing the exhibition, visitors can shop for sculptures in a range of sizes, from small collectible figures to larger statement pieces. The store also stocks DIY painting kits and runs hands-on workshops where guests can decorate their own elephant model — a popular option for those wanting a personal, memorable activity rather than an off-the-shelf souvenir. Reviewers consistently note the quality and originality of the designs, though prices reflect the craftsmanship involved, so it is worth setting a budget before browsing. The venue sits on Thanon Charoen Rajd, close to the Ping River and a nearby pedestrian bridge, making it easy to combine with a riverside walk or a visit to the surrounding Chang Moi neighbourhood. It is open every day from 09:00 to 18:00, so there is plenty of flexibility to fit a visit into a broader Chiang Mai itinerary. Those interested in the workshops are advised to check the official website at elephantparade.com for scheduling and availability before arriving.

Visitor Reviews
The last time I was in Chiang Mai this store was in Maya Mal. Now it has its own location. The elephant designs are amazing. I would buy them all if i could. The staff are friendly, helpful, and very welcoming. You can also attend a workshop here and decorate your own elephant. I bought a small 10cm elephant and paid around 1400B. As it is near Christmas, they also had decorations on offer. A worthy souvenir from a fab place - something to keep.
Absolutely fantastic creative designs. Really nice if you’d like a more unique elephant themed souvenir and for a great cause too. They also sell DIY kits and they run workshops - could be interesting for families
Elephant Parade house is selling models of all scales of colored elephants. Part of the money is used for elephant saving projects. You can even color your own, personal elephant here. It's really worth a visit.

Tips for Visiting Activities & Tours
Vet Elephant Sanctuaries
Only visit sanctuaries that prohibit riding, use no chains or bullhooks, and let elephants roam freely. Elephant Nature Park in Chiang Mai set the standard. If a place offers painting shows or circus tricks, walk away.
Book Through Klook or GetYourGuide
These platforms offer instant confirmation, free cancellation on most activities, and prices that are often lower than walk-up rates. Compare with local agencies for multi-day trips where negotiation might save more.
Do Outdoor Activities in the Morning
Heat and humidity peak from noon to 3 PM. Schedule jungle treks, cycling tours, and outdoor cooking classes for early morning. Water activities are more flexible since you're in and out of the sea.
