Jungle Bar Krabi Town
Tucked into a residential street in Krabi Town, this intimate venue is something genuinely unusual — a bar and restaurant operating out of Ae and Shoi's family home, where the décor, atmosphere, and personal touches make it feel less like a night out and more like being welcomed into someone's living room. It has developed a loyal following among visitors who discover it, often returning multiple times during the same trip. The food is cooked fresh by Ae herself, who takes time to speak with guests about the dishes she prepares. The atmosphere is consistently described as beautiful and unhurried, with a setting that feels carefully considered rather than commercial. The family's warmth and attentiveness appear to be central to the experience, with many visitors noting it became their regular spot while staying in Krabi Town. Good to know: This is not a beachside tourist bar — it sits in Krabi Town proper, which suits travellers based in town or those wanting a more local, personal alternative to the resort-strip scene. As no opening hours are listed online, it is worth checking locally before making the trip, particularly if planning a visit on a specific evening. Given its intimate, home-based setting, it is likely small, so arriving early or being flexible with timing is a sensible approach.

Visitor Reviews
Outstanding place. Ae and her family have created something truly special here. Ae makes all dishes herself and likes to come and speak to as many customers as possible about the dishes. We came 3 times during our 5 nights in Krabi and were greeted like old friends. On all evenings, all of the guests started chatting to each other, creating a really special atmosphere. The food is phenomenal - the prawn dumplings and Penang curry with mashed potato were highlights for me. Make sure to go on your first night so you can return.
You will be very lucky if you have the chance of experiencing one evening at Ae and Shoi's living room. The restaurant is part of their house and the decoration and atmosphere are stunning. Watching Ae cook was delightful, the kitchen is open and you can see her one woman show. The food is superb, very genuine, fresh and carefully made. Meeting them made my stay in Krabi much more special and I am thankful for not only the amazing dinners but mostly for finding good new friends. See you soon!
This became our local while my husband and I were staying in Krabi as it was just beside our hotel. Food was cooked fresh and very tasty. The family made us feel welcome from day 1, that’s what made us go back. The decor and atmosphere was to our taste and as a bonus we got to listen to live music. Their cat took a shine to us and decided to sit with us all the time. Please visit here a it’s s hidden gem
Tips for Visiting Nightlife & Bars
Carry Your Passport or a Copy
Clubs and some bars check IDs strictly, especially in Bangkok's Thonglor, RCA, and Sukhumvit areas. A photo of your passport info page on your phone usually works, but carrying a laminated photocopy is safer.
Know the Closing Times
Legal closing time is 2 AM for most venues, though enforcement varies. In Bangkok's designated entertainment zones (RCA, Silom Soi 2/4, Khao San), some clubs stay open until 4 AM. Islands tend to be more relaxed about hours.
Buy Bucket Drinks Cautiously
Island bucket drinks (mixed spirits in a small bucket) are cheap and fun but notoriously strong and inconsistent. Stick to one, stay hydrated, and never leave your drink unattended at beach parties.
