You're not standing around shouting over a sound system. You're taking turns, losing to a stranger, buying the next round. Reviewers keep coming back to how friendly the bar owners and staff are, and the crowd is a genuine mix rather than the lads-only scene some people expect from Chaweng.
My advice is to treat it as a strip, not a single venue. Wander, poke your head in, and settle wherever the music and the table situation suit you. Doors open at 16:00, but nothing much happens until dark. If you want space and conversation, get there early evening. If you want the party, it runs to 03:00 every night of the week and the later hours are when it properly fills up.
Dress is casual and nobody cares what you're wearing. Mid-range prices, so it won't wreck your budget the way the beach clubs will.
