Chill Inn Chaweng Hostel and cafe
Compare prices
Chill Inn Chaweng is a hostel and cafe situated on Chaweng Beach Road in Koh Samui, offering a sociable but relaxed alternative to the louder party hostels that dominate the area. Consistently praised for its cleanliness and central location, it appeals to solo travellers and small groups looking to meet people without sacrificing comfort or a good night's sleep. The on-site cafe serves food that guests rate well, and those staying at the hostel receive a discount — a practical perk worth taking advantage of. What sets Chill Inn apart, according to multiple visitors, is the quality of its staff. The hostel representative Nele has been singled out repeatedly for organising group outings, facilitating social connections between guests, and going well beyond standard hospitality duties — including, in at least one instance, actively helping guests deal with a theft situation. This level of personal attention gives the hostel a community feel that is difficult to manufacture. A few practical points for prospective guests: dorm beds do not have privacy curtains, so packing a light scarf or small sheet is advisable if you are a light sleeper or value personal space. The hostel's website at chillinnthailand.com is the recommended starting point for booking and checking current availability, particularly during Koh Samui's busy high season between December and April when accommodation across the island fills quickly.

Visitor Reviews
Beds don’t have curtains so bring a scarf or sheet for privacy. Shower toilet areas need bobs emptying more often. Food is good in the cafe and guests get a discount too. Nele the rep was so lovely and always interacting with guests etc. Nice monkey beach bar opposite and down a little bit to the right of the hostel, free sunbeds and nice staff.
We loved this hostel ! It was veey clean and in a nice location The staff were so kind especially the lady working the front desk, we ended up getting our phones stolen and she went above and beyond to help us out. Definitely would recommed this hostel to anyone staying in koh samui. :)
Very nice stay. Had a great time and the hostel rep Nele made the stay unforgettable. Perfect alternative to the big Partyhostels in Chaweng. Altough the Lobby could be made a bit more fun with a bit of music and maybe some pillows on the couch. But overall an awesome place.

Always check the hotel's own website after finding a rate on Agoda or Booking.com. Many Thai properties offer a best-rate guarantee or throw in perks like free breakfast when you book direct.
Pool Villa Doesn't Mean Expensive
Private pool villas in Krabi, Hua Hin, and Chiang Mai start around 2,500–4,000 THB/night — a fraction of Bali or Maldives prices. Search specifically for 'pool villa' to surface hidden gems.
