Thai Spices Restaurant
Situated on Chaweng Beach Road in Koh Samui, this well-regarded Thai restaurant has built a loyal following among both tourists and repeat visitors for its genuinely flavourful, freshly prepared cooking. Reviewers frequently return multiple times during a single trip, citing the quality and consistency across the menu as a standout feature. The kitchen delivers classic Thai dishes — curries, stir-fries, rice and noodle specialties — prepared with evident care rather than catering-line efficiency. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, with attentive staff noted across numerous reviews for being friendly and accommodating. The menu offers enough variety to satisfy different tastes and dietary preferences, and the food is widely described as authentic and well-balanced rather than adjusted for tourist palates. Its position near Chaweng Beach makes it a natural fit for a post-beach dinner or a late evening meal after exploring the area. Good to know: the restaurant operates daily from 11am until 2am, which makes it genuinely useful for late-night dining when other options along the strip have closed. Lunch service is also available, and some visitors make it a regular stop for both meals during their stay. Checking the website at thaispicesrestaurant.com before visiting is worthwhile for any current menu or seasonal updates.

Visitor Reviews
If you’re anywhere near Chaweng Beach, do yourself a favor and eat here. The food is genuinely outstanding, everything tastes fresh and flavorful. You can tell it’s made with care, not just thrown together for tourists. Every dish we tried was packed with authentic Thai flavors and generous portions. But what really makes this place special is the staff. They’re incredibly warm, attentive, and welcoming. This is hands down my favorite spot on Chaweng Beach, and I’ll keep coming back every time I’m here. Highly, highly recommend.
We had an absolutely fantastic evening at this restaurant. The food was incredible! The service was just as impressive. The staff were attentive, friendly, and made us feel very welcome throughout the entire dinner. One thing that made the evening extra special was that they kindly arranged a birthday cake for someone in our group who was celebrating. It was such a thoughtful gesture and really made the night memorable for all of us. Highly recommended if you're looking for amazing food and great service!
On our first day after arriving, we came to this restaurant for dinner and were amazed by the food. After that, we ended up coming back every single day - either for lunch or dinner, because the entire menu is fantastic!!! Everything we tried was delicious, and the prices are very cheap. The value for money is perfect. Anyone visiting the island should definitely come and try the tom yum. Such a great place!

Learn the Spice Scale
Say 'mai pet' for no spice, 'pet nit noi' for a little spice, or 'pet mak' if you want it Thai-hot. Most cooks will default to a toned-down version for foreigners unless you specify otherwise.
Follow the Crowds
The busiest street stalls are almost always the best — high turnover means fresh ingredients and a recipe that locals vouch for. An empty restaurant at dinner time is a red flag.
Ice Is Safe
Factory-made tube or cylinder ice (used in virtually all restaurants and stalls) is made from purified water and is safe to consume. You don't need to skip the iced Thai tea.
