Cabaret Paris Follies
Sitting on Koh Samui's main entertainment strip, this cabaret venue delivers live theatrical performances that draw spontaneous drop-ins and planned nights out alike. The shows are built around elaborate costume changes, a variety of music, and a rotating cast of performers — with visitors frequently noting the quality and detail of the costumes as a standout feature. Entry is low-commitment: guests typically pay their way in by purchasing a drink rather than a ticket, making it an accessible addition to a broader evening out. Shows run for roughly an hour, though many visitors stay for multiple performances. The atmosphere is lively and social, with staff noted for being particularly welcoming — including going out of their way to assist guests with mobility needs. Opinions on the energy and choreography are mixed, with some finding the performances exceptional and others considering them solid but unremarkable, so expectations are best set accordingly. Good to know: Paris Follies sits conveniently between Chaweng's main bar area and the beach fire shows, making it a natural first stop before continuing the night elsewhere. As opening times and show schedules can shift seasonally, it is worth checking current hours before heading out. No formal dress code applies — casual beachside clothing is the norm along Chaweng Beach Road.

Visitor Reviews
I think some of the reviews here are a bit harsh. The show itself was great fun and the dancers all looked amazing - many costume changes and a real variety of music. The drinks cost as much as they do anywhere else in Chaweng and you can’t expect a show for free. Particularly loved Freddie Mercury and Shakira :) Thank you, we had a great time!
We spontaneously went to this show and it was the best decision, we had a blast. The show goes for 1 hour but we stayed for all three. It was my Partners birthday and at the end of the show they got her up on stage, sang happy birthday and gave her a free shot. All the performers and servers are so kind we highly recommend.
Loved it! Such a great performance. Everyone was super friendly. I was with my dad who was in a wheelchair. One of the performers help him all the way to his seat. She didn’t have to do it but she did. Super nice. Great costumes as well. Overall we all enjoyed it a lot! Really recommend!
Tips for Visiting Nightlife & Bars
Carry Your Passport or a Copy
Clubs and some bars check IDs strictly, especially in Bangkok's Thonglor, RCA, and Sukhumvit areas. A photo of your passport info page on your phone usually works, but carrying a laminated photocopy is safer.
Know the Closing Times
Legal closing time is 2 AM for most venues, though enforcement varies. In Bangkok's designated entertainment zones (RCA, Silom Soi 2/4, Khao San), some clubs stay open until 4 AM. Islands tend to be more relaxed about hours.
Buy Bucket Drinks Cautiously
Island bucket drinks (mixed spirits in a small bucket) are cheap and fun but notoriously strong and inconsistent. Stick to one, stay hydrated, and never leave your drink unattended at beach parties.
