Bar Bohem
Tucked along Bangrak Reach Road in the quieter Bo Put area of Koh Samui, this bar has built a strong following among visitors who seek something more authentic than the island's mainstream nightlife strip. The venue has a distinct personality — regulars and first-timers alike consistently highlight the genuine atmosphere and the craft behind the cocktails, with the Negroni drawing particular praise from guests. The bar is anchored by personable service, with Carson a frequently mentioned presence behind the bar — the kind of host who makes strangers feel like regulars. Expect handcrafted cocktails made with care rather than speed, served in a relaxed tropical setting that rewards those willing to seek it out. It is worth noting that a small number of visitors have flagged that pricing sits above the island average, with VAT and service charges added on top, so it is worth going in with that expectation set. On the practical side, the bar can be a little tricky to locate, so allow extra time on your first visit and consider using a navigation app. As specific opening hours are not readily published, checking ahead before making the trip is advisable. The Bo Put location is noticeably calmer than busier tourist zones like Chaweng, which suits visitors looking for a more low-key evening rather than a high-energy night out.

Visitor Reviews
This place. Yeah sure, you’ve heard about good places before haven’t you? This place is better. I like good places, good food and good drinks. These drinks are, by far, the best on the island that I’ve tried. It’s cool and chic, and the staff are so nice. The owner on the other hand, is a complete no… just kidding, nicest guy as well :-) so knowledgeable about his craftsmanship. I just love it. I’d punch Simon Cowells golden buzzer for it :-) give it 6/5 stars.
A little hard to find; however, well worth it! The owner/operator and Carson was personable and his staff very friendly and professional. Hand crafted, delicious cocktails in a relaxed setting with a speak easy type atmosphere. Thanks for the drinks and enjoyable evening.
Authentic and original place with real character. Carson was there and welcomed us with open arms; genuine hospitality at its best. His Negroni is outstanding, perfectly balanced and truly unforgettable. A must-visit spot in Koh Samui for cocktail lovers. Cheers 🍸
Tips for Visiting Nightlife & Bars
Carry Your Passport or a Copy
Clubs and some bars check IDs strictly, especially in Bangkok's Thonglor, RCA, and Sukhumvit areas. A photo of your passport info page on your phone usually works, but carrying a laminated photocopy is safer.
Know the Closing Times
Legal closing time is 2 AM for most venues, though enforcement varies. In Bangkok's designated entertainment zones (RCA, Silom Soi 2/4, Khao San), some clubs stay open until 4 AM. Islands tend to be more relaxed about hours.
Buy Bucket Drinks Cautiously
Island bucket drinks (mixed spirits in a small bucket) are cheap and fun but notoriously strong and inconsistent. Stick to one, stay hydrated, and never leave your drink unattended at beach parties.
