Chi Samui
Sitting on the beach in Koh Samui's Bo Phut area, Chi Samui operates as a beach club, bar, and restaurant rolled into one — a combination that sets it apart from the standard dining options along the strip. Comfy daybeds, direct sea views, and a pool area create an atmosphere that works equally well for a lazy afternoon drink or a proper sit-down meal. Visitors consistently highlight the venue's design as a cut above the typical beach bar, with a polished, relaxed aesthetic that feels unhurried without being stuffy. The food and drinks menu covers enough ground to satisfy most tastes, with standout mentions including lamb, octopus, breakfast plates, mimosas, and sangria. Pricing has pleasantly surprised visitors who expected beach club rates to be steep — the general consensus is that quality comfortably justifies the cost. Staff attentiveness is a recurring theme across visitor feedback, with the team noted for being friendly and responsive. Chi Samui opens at 11:00 AM and stays open until midnight every day of the week, making it well suited to long, unhurried days that drift from lunch through to evening. Arriving earlier in the day is a practical move for anyone hoping to secure a daybed with a prime sea view, particularly during the busier tourist months. Checking the website at chisamui.com ahead of a visit is worthwhile for confirming any current offerings or reservation options.

Visitor Reviews
If you’re on the strip in Ko Samui and want somewhere that actually has a bit of life to it, this beach bar is easily the standout. Based on the time I spent in Samui, it was the only spot in the area that consistently has atmosphere — relaxed during the day, then gradually picking up energy into the evening without ever becoming chaotic. The music is one of its strengths. Instead of blasting one genre, it is changed each day which adds variety. In the time I was there this included a local DJ in the day and then a singer who set the mood for dinner. The service was great throughout the time we spent there. The staff are attentive and welcoming. The way in which they present themselves demonstrates a clear passion to cater to customer needs. Food-wise, it’s better than you’d expect from a beach bar. The menu is broad — proper breakfasts, hearty English comfort food, solid Thai specials, pizzas, and more casual bites. Portions are reasonable (not oversized tourist traps), and the meals feel balanced rather than greasy, rushed or inconsistent. The quality of the food was noticeably high, and you can tell they care about presentation and ingredients. That said, it is on the pricier side for the area. You’ll definitely notice you’re paying more than at some nearby local spots or the general average on the island. Whether it’s “worth it” depends on what you’re after — but in fairness, the quality of the food, the beachfront setting, and the overall experience do justify the premium. If you want good food, decent music, and a proper beach atmosphere rather than just a quiet row of chairs and speakers, this is the place on Ko Samui that delivers and we will definitely return next time we are in the area.
Initially I thought "here we go, get ready to spend 20000 baht" but it was so reasonable considering the quality of drinks and food. To top it off the staff are amazingly attentive, really good with the kids and the General Manager is very hands on and friendly. Will definitely be coming back here again. 10 times better than Finns in Bali for value. Wasn't overcrowded at all and served very fast. The owner and GM has done very well here. Edit: came here 2 days in a row just to try more menu items. My favourite place in Samui.
We loved Chi Beach Club! Very nice beach club with beautiful sea. After visiting beach clubs in Chaweng , this beach club made our day. The atmosphere and food is really good. The staff is friendly and professional. Thanks to the nice managers of the club.I enjoyed the dj performance very much. Everything is clean including restrooms etc.Make sure to make reservation. Looking forward to come back again!

Learn the Spice Scale
Say 'mai pet' for no spice, 'pet nit noi' for a little spice, or 'pet mak' if you want it Thai-hot. Most cooks will default to a toned-down version for foreigners unless you specify otherwise.
Follow the Crowds
The busiest street stalls are almost always the best — high turnover means fresh ingredients and a recipe that locals vouch for. An empty restaurant at dinner time is a red flag.
Ice Is Safe
Factory-made tube or cylinder ice (used in virtually all restaurants and stalls) is made from purified water and is safe to consume. You don't need to skip the iced Thai tea.
